Hedge fund Arini is facing mounting margin calls after losses at its flagship fund exceeded 26% this year. Hedgeweek reported that the firm was forced to sell over $2bn in debt holdings over the past week due to a sharp selloff in distressed corporate debt.
The liquidations come as the $22bn investment firm saw its concentrated positions in heavily indebted companies impacted by deteriorating market liquidity. Despite the pressure, Arini secured $1.5bn in new investor commitments in October 2026, including $425m deployed at the beginning of that month.
