Fal Raises $1.3 Billion, Valuation Reaches $16 Billion in New Round

Key Facts

1Fal raised $1.3 billion in its latest round on November 3, 2026.
2Fal's valuation reached $16 billion, compared with $8 billion in April 2026.
3Fal's Series E and Series F rounds raised a total of about $1.65 billion.
4Fal's annualized revenue exceeded $800 million earlier in 2026.

Fal raised $1.3 billion in its latest funding round, lifting its valuation to $16 billion, double its $8 billion valuation in April, TechCrunch reported, citing Bloomberg, on November 3, 2026. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, with participation from Nvidia, Sound Ventures and T. Rowe Price, according to the report. Fal hosts and runs artificial intelligence models for images, video and audio, and also provides inference services. Inference means running a trained model to produce outputs, according to TechCrunch's explanation. The round puts the company at the heart of the model-running services market, where rising demand has been linked, according to the report, to customers relying particularly on open-source models.

Fal announced its Series E and Series F rounds at the same time, saying the two rounds raised a total of $1.65 billion, according to TechCrunch. The company confirmed that Sequoia Capital led the Series E round, which it closed earlier in the year, while Bessemer led the Series F round, with Nvidia as a strategic investor. The announcement therefore covers two rounds, one closed earlier in 2026 and the other led by Bessemer, while the figures for the latest round and the valuation are attributed to Bloomberg via TechCrunch. Fal said the investors and the two rounds will fund work across its ecosystem during 2027. The company said the funding gives its team room to pursue new research and new forms of creativity.

Fal linked its funding needs to the increased inference capacity required to run models at scale and the need to expand its team to build what comes next. The company said entertainment studios, advertising agencies, e-commerce brands, game developers and marketing teams run image, video and audio models within the production workflows used to complete their final work. It added that supporting this use requires the computing capacity to run models at scale and the team capable of developing future services. Against the backdrop of the round, Fal's annualized revenue exceeded $800 million earlier in 2026, Bloomberg reported. That figure provides context for the scale of activity the company aims to support, while the financial report itself attributed the revenue figure to Bloomberg.

The valuation jump comes in a market where inference-platform providers are competing to meet companies' needs to run models and secure the computing capacity and chips required to deliver the service. In September 2026, Bloomberg reported that Modal was in funding talks at a valuation of about $15 billion, while Baseten was in talks that could lift its valuation to $26 billion from $13 billion in June. Bloomberg linked some of the demand for inference services to the spread of low-cost, efficient open-source models from China and other markets. Positron, a company specializing in chips for running artificial intelligence models, also raised $875 million in September, and Reuters said inference had become a key competitive arena as specialized processors are developed to compete with Nvidia. Fal intends to direct funding from its two rounds to work across its ecosystem during 2027, according to its announcement.
