Neurocrine Revenue Jumps 41% to $1.123 Billion in Third Quarter
Key Facts
Neurocrine Biosciences reported revenue of $1.123 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up 41% from $795 million in the same period of 2025. Diluted earnings per share, excluding items not in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, reached $3.29, compared with $2.17 a year earlier, a 52% increase. Earnings per share beat analysts’ estimate of $1.91, while revenue exceeded their estimate of $1.04 billion, according to MarketBeat. The gap between actual revenue and the estimate represents a beat of about $83 million. The results put sales growth and the higher annual Ingrezza guidance at the forefront of the company’s quarterly performance.
Adjusted net income was $347 million, up from $222 million in the third quarter of 2025, a 56% year-over-year increase. The company attributed revenue growth to improved performance, but said its effect on income was partly offset by higher investment in research and development, sales and administration. This indicates that business expansion was accompanied by increased spending on business development and research programs. Cash and investments totaled $790 million at quarter-end, compared with $2.113 billion at the end of the same period a year earlier. The company said the annual decline in this balance was mainly due to its acquisition of Soleno in May 2026.
Neurocrine raised its 2026 net sales forecast range for Ingrezza to between $2.900 billion and $2.925 billion, from between $2.825 billion and $2.875 billion. The change lifts both the lower and upper ends of the forecast, while the new range remains below $3 billion. The updated guidance follows sales of $2.514 billion for the drug, according to figures in the company’s presentation. The company linked this step to the drug’s commercial results in its annual outlook, while its presentation pointed to strong sales. The higher annual range gives investors an updated benchmark for tracking the product’s performance through the rest of 2026.
Investors are also watching the company’s research pipeline: Neurocrine expects data from 9 programs during 2027. The schedule includes Phase 3 results for osavampator in the second half of that year. It also includes results for dirceldine in the second half of 2027, followed by further results in 2028. The company plans to hold an R&D day in New York on December 15, 2026. The event is expected to give the company an opportunity to present its research programs before the anticipated clinical readouts the following year.
