Enovix’s Early Orders Top Third-Quarter Revenue, Including 100,000-Battery Order
Key Facts
Enovix said orders received in the early part of the fourth quarter exceeded total third-quarter revenue, signaling commercial momentum as the company expands its presence in drone and defense applications. The company disclosed an initial order for 100,000 batteries from a provider of multi-use drone systems. The batteries are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027. The disclosed order puts a specific volume against the early orders the company said exceeded the previous quarter’s revenue. Deliveries and actual revenue remain dependent on executing the order on the announced schedule.
Enovix expects additional orders to follow a successful initial deployment, starting in the second half of 2027 and beyond. The outlook links subsequent orders to the success of the initial application, while the company set the first half of the same year for delivery of the initial batch. Drone and defense customers accounted for about 70% of Enovix’s third-quarter revenue, according to the company’s disclosure. The company’s opportunity pipeline in the drone, defense and industrial sectors was about $216 million, including about $150 million for drones alone. The pipeline is an estimate of the maximum annual production value of specific design opportunities and does not represent contracted or committed revenue.
Enovix reported preliminary, unaudited third-quarter revenue of $11.0 million, up 38% from the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue exceeded the company’s guidance range of $9 million to $10 million. The company said the third quarter marked its sixth consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth. The results provide a basis for comparison with the early fourth-quarter orders that Enovix said exceeded third-quarter revenue. Drone and defense customers had accounted for about 70% of revenue in that quarter, according to the company’s disclosure.
Enovix is expanding production capacity at its South Korea facility under a previously announced plan, with the new capacity expected to come online in mid-2027. The company said the first phase will use land and buildings it owns, along with available production equipment. Its pipeline of Korea-manufactured product opportunities rose about 41% in the second quarter to about $183 million, from $130 million at the end of the first quarter. But the company said pipeline figures estimate the maximum annual production value of design opportunities and do not indicate confirmed revenue or committed orders. The disclosed initial drone battery order comes amid these opportunities, while the expected timing for the new capacity remains mid-2027.
In South Korea’s economy, the manufacturing purchasing managers’ index fell to 51.3 points in October from 53.9 points in September, according to a report cited by Reuters. A reading above 50 indicates that activity remained in expansion territory for an 11th consecutive month, although growth slowed to its weakest pace in eight months. The report pointed to slower production and new orders. Companies also cited weak demand, raw-material shortages and rising costs as pressures. These indicators provide context for industrial activity in South Korea; the company did not link demand for its batteries to this economic data.
Enovix shares rose more than 2% in Monday trading, according to Benzinga coverage published on October 12. EL7 data showed the shares closed at $3.15 on October 30. In its disclosure, the company said full third-quarter results and initial progress on its cost-reduction plan would be announced on November 12, 2026. It also expected to distribute warrants to shareholders on or around November 18, at a rate of one warrant for every four common shares held by shareholders of record. The dates put the full results announcement after the company’s confirmation of early orders, followed by the warrant distribution to shareholders.
