Binance Misses Luna Classic Token Burn for First Time Since 2023
Key Facts
Binance missed its scheduled monthly Luna Classic (LUNC) token burn for November 2026, marking the first such occurrence since 2023. Crypto Briefing reported that the exchange has not provided an explanation for the absence of the burn, which typically occurs on the first of each month. The most recent confirmed burn took place on October 1, removing approximately 334.87 million tokens from circulation.
The delay comes as the exchange recovers from a record-breaking $6.3 billion security breach, according to Decrypt. Binance has been responsible for burning between 88 and 90 billion LUNC tokens over the life of the program, and the asset's price direction turned qualitative bearish as of November 3, 2026, amid the operational uncertainty.
