Engineers India reported a 135.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit after tax for the September quarter of 2026 to 196.68 crore rupees, compared with 83.49 crore a year earlier, according to results data cited by Angel One. The results for the second quarter of fiscal 2026-27 were announced as the stock rose during the November 2 session. The stock gained as much as 14.6% during the session and was quoted at 288.45 rupees on the Bombay Stock Exchange, according to Moneycontrol Hindi. The consolidated results put annual growth above the standalone figure of 180 crore rupees, representing the company’s standalone profit after tax in the second quarter. The company said the standalone figure rose 66% from 109 crore rupees in the first quarter, not 56% year on year.

On a quarterly basis, the company recorded consolidated profit of 197 crore rupees in the quarter ended September 30, against 158 crore rupees in the quarter ended June 30, according to an Engineers India statement. On a parent-company basis, profit after tax was 180 crore rupees in the second quarter, compared with 109 crore in the first quarter. The company said this was a 66% increase during the quarter, distinct from the annual growth in consolidated profit for September quarter cited by Angel One. Sales were 802 crore rupees in the second quarter, compared with 800 crore in the first quarter, according to the company statement. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, including other income, also rose to 240 crore rupees, with a margin of 27%, from 155 crore and a margin of 19% in the previous quarter.

Profit growth extended into the first half of fiscal 2026-27. Engineers India said consolidated profit after tax was 355 crore rupees, compared with 149 crore in the first half of the previous fiscal year, an increase of 138%. On a parent-company basis, profit after tax rose 56% to 288 crore rupees, compared with 185 crore in the corresponding period. First-half profit before tax increased 54% to 375 crore rupees, from 243 crore in the year-earlier period. The 56% growth therefore differs from the annual increase in consolidated profit for the September quarter: it is the parent-company profit after tax figure for the first half. In the same period, the company recorded revenue from consulting and turnkey projects within its new orders, linking profit growth to an expansion in contracted activity, according to its data.

The company said it secured new orders worth 7,428 crore rupees in the first half, including 5,762 crore from consulting services and 1,666 crore from turnkey projects. Its order book reached a record 20,421 crore rupees on September 30, 2026, according to an Engineers India statement. The company said this level strengthens revenue visibility for coming periods, referring to the backlog of contracted work awaiting execution. It said in its statement that the order book was at an all-time high and linked this to continued client confidence. The split of new orders between consulting and projects shows the sources of business the company added in the first half. The statement did not specify when the full order book would be executed.

The company attributed improved profitability to a higher contribution from consulting services, which carry higher margins, according to its statement. The improvement was reflected in the margin on earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, including other income, which rose to 27% in the second quarter from 19% in the first quarter. The value of this item also increased to 240 crore rupees from 155 crore over the same period. This comparison places margin performance alongside sales, which were nearly unchanged at 802 crore rupees against 800 crore in the previous quarter. The company’s disclosure indicates that a higher-margin consulting mix contributed to profitability. It did not include an explanation attributed to the company for the stock’s movement during the session.

On shareholder distributions, Engineers India announced a first interim dividend of 1.5 rupees per share and set November 5, 2026, as the record date, according to Angel One. The dividend applies to ordinary shares with a face value of 5 rupees per share. The announcement came alongside the quarterly and first-half results, while the stock moved as much as 14.6% during the November 2 session and reached 288.45 rupees on the Bombay Stock Exchange, according to Moneycontrol Hindi. Coverage had linked the stock’s gains to the company’s higher profit. The announced record date is November 5, the date used to determine shareholders eligible for the first interim dividend.
