Bitget Records $1.86 Trillion in Combined Trading in Q3 2026
Key Facts
Bitget recorded $1.86 trillion in combined trading in the third quarter of 2026, covering crypto derivatives, spot markets and traditional financial products, according to a statement from the platform. The company said combined monthly trading volume rose 21.2% from July to September, signaling expanding activity across the asset classes on its platform. Spot crypto trading rose 65.7% over the same period. Crypto derivatives grew 31.5% to $409.19 billion in September, a monthly figure rather than a quarterly total. In traditional products, contracts-for-difference trading expanded 39.7% and accounted for $376.32 billion during the quarter, making it Bitget’s largest non-crypto category.
The figures reflect Bitget’s effort to bring crypto and traditional asset trading together in one account. The platform said it launched the “Unified Multi-Asset Account,” which includes more than 370 eligible assets under a shared-margin framework, including more than 100 tokenized U.S. stocks. The framework allows eligible tokenized stocks to be used as collateral across trading products, with collateral valuation ratios of up to 95%, according to the company’s statement. The move links the wider product range to the ability to use assets across more than one market within the same margin account. The statement did not disclose separate trading volume for tokenized stocks, but cited the number of assets covered by the account and the maximum collateral valuation ratio.
On liquidity, Bitget cited a TokenInsight report ranking it first among 9 platforms for the depth of Bitcoin and Ether futures contracts within 0.05% of the market price. The report estimated liquidity in that range at $41.6 million. The ranking provides a measure of order-book depth near the prevailing price as the platform expands activity across derivatives and traditional assets. The result remains attributable to the report cited by Bitget, and the statement did not provide a time-series comparison for this measure. Across the broader market, digital assets posted gains in September, with Bitcoin up 6.4%, Ether up 8.8% and Solana up 14.6%, according to Crypto.com’s monthly review.
The quarterly figures were released after a security incident that Bitget said occurred on September 24. The company said it took containment and recovery measures and that users’ account balances were unaffected. In its incident timeline, the platform put the final amount affected at about $388 million and said the transfers involved 12 addresses linked to hot or warm wallets. It also said it had engaged Mandiant and SlowMist to investigate the incident. Bitget said its phased plan to resume withdrawals was completed on October 2, along with the restoration of services related to fiat currencies and peer-to-peer trading. These measures place security and service continuity at the center of the context for the trading expansion announced by the company.
Bitget expanded its reserve disclosures after the incident, increasing proof-of-reserves coverage from 4 assets to 19 and adding 15 assets to the verification framework. A reserve snapshot taken on September 29, 2026, showed an overall ratio of 131% across the 19 assets, with each asset’s ratio above the 100% threshold, according to the platform’s report. Bitget said this was its forty-seventh proof-of-reserves report. The platform uses a Merkle tree structure and says users can independently verify that their assets are included in the reserve snapshot. Chief Executive Gracy Chen described the quarter as a period of strong growth, adding: “The third quarter showed strong growth, but it also reminded us that protecting our users must remain our top priority.”
