Anchorpoint explores expanding HKDAP to Solana and plans near-instant settlement
Key Facts
Anchorpoint Financial announced a strategic partnership with Solana Foundation on October 30, 2026, to explore expanding HKDAP, a Hong Kong dollar-pegged currency, to the Solana network, according to the company’s statement. It said its plan includes support for native minting and redemption of the token on the network, with near-instant settlement. The statement did not announce an actual launch or a start date for these operations. The move represents a potential path to expanding use of the regulated currency beyond the network on which it currently operates. Anchorpoint’s FAQs say HKDAP is available only in a pilot phase on the Ethereum mainnet.
Anchorpoint and Solana Foundation intend to facilitate access to HKDAP and the tokenized products it supports through enterprise partners and consumer applications, according to the statement. The company identified payments, tokenized-asset trading and high-volume use cases as target areas. This remains part of the expansion plan and is not evidence that these uses are already available. Anchorpoint also plans to work with international partners to broaden adoption of the currency. The approach reflects the company’s aim to connect regulated tokenized-money infrastructure with a public network, according to its chief executive’s description of the partnership.
Anchorpoint’s statement cited real-world asset activity on Solana, saying the network supports about $4.9 billion in such assets and more than 835,000 holders. These figures provide context for choosing the network as part of the HKDAP expansion plan, as the company seeks to make the currency available through different applications and partners. Solana Foundation will also join Anchorpoint’s tokenized-money adoption program as a strategic partner, following PwC’s recent addition. The program aims to support cooperation, knowledge sharing and the development of Hong Kong’s regulated stablecoin and tokenization ecosystem. Anchorpoint’s chief executive said the partnership brings together regulated tokenized-money infrastructure and one of the leading public blockchain ecosystems.
Anchorpoint Financial is owned by a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and is also a joint venture founded by the banking group with HKT and Animoca Brands in February 2025, according to the company’s description. HKDAP operates under Hong Kong’s licensing framework for stablecoin issuers, which took effect on August 1, 2025. Under the Stablecoins Ordinance, issuing fiat-referenced stablecoins became a regulated activity requiring a license, according to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Anchorpoint says each token has a par value of 1.00 Hong Kong dollar. Its white paper also states that the value of reserves must be at least equal to the par value of all tokens in circulation.
Anchorpoint’s transparency dashboard showed cumulative transactions of 259,094,758 units, a circulating supply of 103,102,420 units and disclosed reserves of 104,206,693 units, according to weekly data through October 30, 2026. In the last 30 days through that date, issuance totaled 103,496,769 units, against redemptions of 1,501,270 units. Trading recorded a net increase of 101,995,499 units over the same period. The Monetary Authority says the stablecoin regime relies on high-quality, liquid reserves, with disclosure and redemption at par value within a reasonable period. In trading, SCBFY shares closed at $55.55 on October 30, 2026, according to EL7 data.
HKDAP remains in a pilot-access phase, with access limited to authorized distributors and their institutional and corporate users, according to Anchorpoint’s FAQs. The company says pilot access is available to businesses and professional investors, while the full launch is intended to broaden availability to individuals. The company is targeting a full launch no later than the end of 2026, subject to completing preparations and readiness. The Monetary Authority said in April that the two licensed entities intended to begin operations in the following months after completing the necessary preparations. The partnership announcement did not include a separate date for making HKDAP available on Solana.
