Sensus Healthcare reported revenue of $2.3 million in the second quarter of 2026, down $5 million, or 68.5%, from $7.3 million in the corresponding period of 2025, according to the company’s statement. The decline came alongside a drop in registered units to 11 from 19 a year earlier. The company posted a net loss of $8.7 million, or $0.53 per share, compared with a loss of $1.0 million, or $0.06 per share, in the second quarter of 2025. Adjusted EBITDA loss was $3 million, compared with $1.8 million in the year-ago period, a measure that is not in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. The results show a decline in revenue and a widening net loss during the quarter.

The company said the 11 units include Fair Deal and leasing agreements, and that it recorded no sales to the customer it described as historically large. It also said eight units could not be recorded as sold during the quarter because of the timing of financing approvals, and that it expects to recognize their revenue in the third quarter. This means the deferred units were not included in the second-quarter registered sales figure, and financing timing was a factor in their delayed recording. However, total registered units remained below the year-ago level, when they totaled 19. The company also linked the decline to the absence of sales to the historically large customer.

Gross margin fell to 34.8% in the second quarter from 39.7% a year earlier. The company partly attributed this to product mix, including a higher share of international shipments with a lower average selling price. It also pointed to upfront costs for Fair Deal installations, while revenue is recorded over the term of the agreement. This difference in the timing of costs and revenue recognition put pressure on the margin reported for the quarter. Alongside lower revenue, the margin decline reflects weaker gross profitability compared with the year-ago period.

Quarterly tax expense included a valuation allowance of $5.7 million against net deferred tax assets, according to the company’s statement. The allowance came in a quarter in which the company posted a net loss of $8.7 million, compared with a loss of $1.0 million in the second quarter of 2025. At the same time, adjusted EBITDA loss widened to $3 million from $1.8 million. These measures show different aspects of performance: net loss includes the impact of tax expense, while the adjusted measure is not in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. Thus, the widening net loss was also accompanied by an increase in adjusted operating loss compared with the previous year.

In trading, the company’s shares rose 0.96% during the regular session on August 13 to $3.16, then fell 10.44% in extended trading to $2.83 after the results were announced, according to an Investing.com article attributed to Reuters. On August 14, Lake Street cut its price target for the shares from $4.50 to $4, while maintaining its Buy rating, according to a TheFly report via TipRanks. The update reflects a lower price estimate while the rating remained Buy. EL7 data provided showed the stock closed at $2.76 on October 30, 2026. Details of the trading range that day were not available in the supplied price record.

Sensus Healthcare said physician engagement, customer interest and its sales pipeline improved after the implementation of dedicated CPT codes. It also said the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services proposed a 26% increase for the hospital superficial radiation therapy delivery code, with any impact dependent on approval of the proposal. This places the sales pipeline and reimbursement developments among the factors the company is monitoring following weak second-quarter results. The company is scheduled to report third-quarter results on November 12, 2026. It said management’s call to discuss the results will begin on the same day at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time.
