PRONEXUS reported on October 30, 2026, net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥1,881 million for the first half of fiscal 2027, which ran from April 1 to September 30, 2026. Profit for the period was ¥1,899 million, while operating profit came to ¥2,757 million, down 8.3% year on year. The results show a positive first-half profit, contrary to what a draft headline about a quarterly net loss might suggest. The company said profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 9.0%, or ¥186 million, from the same period a year earlier. This came as revenue grew, but higher operating and administrative expenses weighed on earnings.

Revenue was ¥19,371 million in the first half, up 5.2% from ¥18,421 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year. PRONEXUS attributed the growth in part to revenue contributions from JBA Holdings and outsourced disclosure preparation services. It also cited the introduction of its FDS system at a major asset manager and an increase in new fund requests. Other factors worked in the opposite direction, including a decline in the number of listed companies and fewer printed pages. Revenue growth thus coincided with lower operating profit, reflecting the differing effects of business expansion and higher costs during the period.

General and administrative expenses rose 15.2% to ¥5,180 million, an increase of ¥685 million from the same period a year earlier. The company said higher wages and systems costs contributed to the increase, including investment in artificial intelligence. It added that merger and acquisition expenses also weighed on earnings. This spending accompanied revenue growth linked to JBA Holdings and the expansion of disclosure services, but also helped explain the decline in operating profit despite higher sales. Basic earnings per share were ¥76.23, compared with ¥81.01 in the previous first half.

The company linked part of its business activity to Japanese market conditions, saying the Nikkei index closed above 70,000 points for the first time during the first half, compared with a peak above 45,000 points in the same period a year earlier. It estimated that Japan had 3,808 listed companies at the end of the period, excluding the Tokyo Pro Market, down by about 80 year on year. This is an important base for its business related to listed companies, while the company said about two-thirds of its revenue comes from corporate services. It also said nearly 60% of its clients end their fiscal year in March, concentrating requests related to closing and shareholder meetings in the first quarter. Total assets rose ¥2,660 million from the end of the previous fiscal year to ¥40,939 million on September 30, 2026.

PRONEXUS left unchanged its forecast for the fiscal year ending in March 2027, projecting revenue of ¥34,000 million, operating profit of ¥3,000 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥2,000 million. The forecast remains the company's full-year outlook after the first-half results, despite the decline in interim operating profit. It expected annual dividends of ¥44 per share, comprising ¥22 for the first half and ¥22 expected at the fiscal year-end. On October 30, the board also resolved to repurchase the company's own shares, referring investors to a separate announcement for details of the purchase method.
