Canaan Mines 44 Bitcoin in September, Lifting Holdings to 1,875
Key Facts
Canaan said it mined 44 bitcoin in September 2026, bringing its balance to 1,875 units at the end of the month, according to its filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company said production came “despite rising network difficulty,” referring to the operating conditions it faced during the month. The operating hash rate of its joint ventures stood at 4.18 EH/s at the end of September. Canaan said the installed combined hash rate of its joint ventures was 4.87 EH/s. These figures provide a snapshot of the company’s production and balance, but on their own do not establish a broader trend in miners’ holdings or sales.
BitFuFu said its holdings rose to 1,388 bitcoin in September from 1,373 in August 2026, while its total hash rate fell to 19.4 EH/s from 20.6 EH/s. Bitcoin’s closing price fell from $80,154.09 on Oct. 25 to $77,826.01 on Nov. 1, according to EL7 data. Separately, the Puell Multiple stood at 1.0065 on Oct. 30, according to the CoinGlass page. The indicator calculates the dollar value of bitcoin issued daily through the block reward relative to the average of that value over 365 days. Glassnode’s estimates of miners’ balances reflect supply in miners’ addresses, and the platform cautions that they are estimates and may not include all their holdings.
In its September filing, Canaan said it mined 44 bitcoin and held 1,875 units at the end of the month. In its August update, it also reported production of 44 bitcoin, with a non-joint-venture combined hash rate of 10.05 EH/s at the end of that month. The company said in October that its 8-megawatt district-heating project in the Nordic countries was fully operational. It said the project delivers recovered heat to about 2,800 homes. The initiative provides another dimension to mining activity by using heat generated by computing for heating. In the market, U.S. spot bitcoin funds recorded net outflows of about $485 million on Oct. 7, their largest daily withdrawals in more than 3 months, according to an Investing.com analysis published on Oct. 9.
