Key Facts
GK Energy's revenue rose 38.9% year on year in the first half of fiscal 2027 to 9,078.46 million rupees, compared with 6,537.72 million rupees in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The results show activity expanding during the half, with revenue growing faster than in the second quarter alone. The company reported unaudited results for the period ended September 30, 2026, after approval by its board at a meeting on October 29. The approval covered standalone and consolidated results, and the company attached the limited review report. The figures were included in the company's investor presentation for the second quarter and first half of fiscal 2027.
In the second quarter, revenue was 4,026.54 million rupees, up 12.3% year on year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were 744.15 million rupees, with a margin of 18.5%. Profit after tax increased 6.3% to 493.64 million rupees. These figures put quarterly revenue growth below the rate recorded in the first half, while quarterly profit after tax growth was 6.3%. Management said the monsoon slows agricultural pump installations during the second quarter, according to the earnings call.
On execution, GK Energy installed 43,509 systems in the first half, up 77.57% year on year, and installed capacity reached 193 megawatts, a growth of 70.8%. In the second quarter alone, the company installed 19,391 systems, an annual increase of 41.8%. Fiscal 2026 installations totaled 61,085 systems, with installed capacity of 276 megawatts. The company has set a target of installing one million systems by 2030. This target provides a timeframe for the expansion reflected in the installation and capacity figures reported for the first half.
The company distinguished in its presentation between the outstanding order book and cumulative orders received during fiscal 2027. The order book stood at 788 crore rupees on September 30, 2026, while cumulative orders received through the presentation date reached 1,422.29 crore rupees, inclusive of goods and services tax. The company said its current order book supports the target of installing one million systems by 2030. Its working capital metrics at the end of the first half were 204 days for receivables, 36 days for payables and 23 days for inventory. It said it received 3,774.80 million rupees after September 30 through the presentation date, and said these collections materially reduced outstanding amounts.
In a development following the results, the company announced on October 23 that it had received a letter of award from Maharashtra's electricity distribution company to supply 14,000 off-grid solar water pumps with a capacity of 5 horsepower. The total award value is 330.29 crore rupees, inclusive of goods and services tax. The company said the work would be completed within 60 days of the issuance of the work order or notice to proceed. The letter represents a new order among contracts announced during the fiscal year, separate from the outstanding order book figure on September 30. The start date for the execution period remains tied to the issuance of the work order or notice to proceed.
