Silicom Revenue Jumps 71% to $26.7 Million as It Returns to Non-GAAP Profitability
Key Facts
Silicom said third-quarter 2026 revenue rose 71% to $26.7 million, compared with $15.6 million in the same period of 2025, and that it returned to net income on a non-GAAP basis. The company said non-GAAP net income was $0.3 million, or $0.04 per share, after a loss of $2.1 million, or $0.36 per share, a year earlier. On a GAAP basis, the company posted a net loss of $0.3 million, or $0.06 per share, versus a loss of $2.8 million, or $0.49 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Chief Executive Liron Eizenman said Silicom returned to non-GAAP profitability ahead of its initial expectations. He added that this was "driven by strong execution and the significant inherent leverage in our business model."
The results reflect an improvement in revenue and profitability from a year earlier, while the difference between the two accounting measures remained clear: the company reported net income on a non-GAAP basis but continued to post a loss under GAAP. Eizenman said the results "exceeded our guidance and clearly demonstrated that our strategic plan and business are performing much better than we had planned." Gross profit was $8.021 million in the third quarter, compared with $4.897 million a year earlier. Operating expenses, meanwhile, rose to $8.869 million from $7.977 million. These figures came as the GAAP loss narrowed to $0.3 million from $2.8 million, an 88% year-over-year improvement.
For the first nine months of 2026, revenue rose 55% to $69.6 million, compared with $45.0 million in the corresponding period of 2025. The GAAP net loss for the period narrowed 46% to $4.8 million from $8.9 million. The results show that the improvement extended beyond the latest reported quarter to revenue and the cumulative loss since the start of the year. In the quarter alone, revenue grew at a faster 71% pace, while non-GAAP results moved from a loss to net income. This comparison provides a basis for assessing the company's guidance for the rest of the year, with a clear difference between adjusted profitability and the GAAP result.
Silicom raised its 2026 fiscal-year revenue forecast to between $96 million and $98 million, a range the company said represents 57% annual growth. For the fourth quarter, the company expects revenue of between $27 million and $28 million, with year-over-year growth of 66% at the upper end of the guidance. The figures mean management expects revenue growth to continue in the final quarter, after third-quarter growth of 71% year over year. On future business indicators, the company added two design wins during the third quarter, bringing the year-to-date total to 8. Management said that total exceeded the lower end of its annual guidance and put the company on track to reach or exceed the upper end.
Areas where management said it sees opportunities include Edge systems, Smart NICs and FPGA, as well as AI inference, White Box switches and post-quantum cryptography. The company links these areas to its product portfolio and growth opportunities, while design wins provide another indicator of business added during the year. Eizenman said the return to profitability came ahead of the initial plan and attributed the performance to execution and the inherent leverage in the business model. The third-quarter results were scheduled for release before the market opened on October 29, 2026, with a management conference call the same day at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. In trading on October 29, the stock fell 14.11% to $37.93, compared with its previous close of $44.16 on October 28.
