Ryan Specialty kept its outlook for organic revenue growth in the mid-single digits for 2026, but lowered its estimate for adjusted profit margin to a modest decline from the prior year. Chief Financial Officer Janice Hamilton put the decline at about 50 basis points, compared with July guidance for a decrease of 50 to 100 basis points. Hamilton said the update reflects cost discipline, the lapping of the impact of hiring investments made in 2025, and slight expected support from investment income on fiduciary funds. The company announced the updated guidance on October 29, alongside results for the third quarter ended September 30. The update puts slower organic revenue growth and margin pressure at the forefront of the results, despite improved net income and earnings per share.

The company reported third-quarter revenue of $790.0 million, up 4.7% year over year from $754.6 million in the same period of 2025. But organic revenue growth fell to 4.0% from 15.0% a year earlier, highlighting the gap between overall revenue growth and organic momentum during the period. The company attributed organic growth to winning new clients, strong retention at renewal and expanding relationships with existing clients. It said most casualty lines recorded growth, while a moderate decline in its property insurance portfolio offset those gains. Chief Executive Tim Turner said intense competition in the excess and surplus insurance market is pushing property prices lower, with the impact extending to some high-risk casualty classes and binding authority business.

Net income rose 40.6% to $88.0 million in the third quarter, compared with $62.6 million in the same quarter a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share were $0.29. For the first nine months of 2026, management said organic revenue grew 7.3%, adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization and compensation increased 7.9%, and adjusted earnings per share rose 15.1%. Those figures show stronger cumulative performance than the organic growth rate recorded in the third quarter alone. By contrast, the company kept its full-year organic revenue growth outlook in the mid-single digits and estimated that adjusted profit margin would decline about 50 basis points. Taken together, the indicators show that improved income and profitability during the period did not prevent the company from signaling continued modest pressure on its annual margin.

Ryan Specialty announced on August 6 the launch of Tera Underwriters, an underwriting and insurance program targeting computing equipment in industrial data centers in the United States. The targeted assets include cryptocurrency mining facilities, artificial intelligence centers and high-performance computing, in a program the company described as dedicated to this infrastructure. The primary underwriting agreement has capacity of $625 million, while the addition of excess insurance capital enables more than $1 billion per policy. The company said the program is backed by A+-rated capital and is available exclusively through RT Specialty. The announcement set the fourth quarter of 2026 as the launch date for international capabilities, while the company said coverage is available in all 50 U.S. states.

RYAN shares closed at $43.28 in regular trading on October 29, up 1.55% during the session, before falling 1.7% in after-hours trading to $42.55. The move followed the earnings release and updated guidance, with the regular session's gain reversing in subsequent trading. The company said an earnings call would be held on October 29 at 4:45 p.m. Eastern Time. It also said a replay of the call would remain available for one year. International capabilities for the Tera program remain among the developments announced for the fourth quarter of 2026, according to the timetable the company disclosed when launching the program.
