Intelbras reported third-quarter 2026 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of 170 million Brazilian reais, up 18.1% year on year, Reuters reported via InfoMoney. Net revenue was 1.18 billion reais, up 4.6% from the same period last year. Net profit and operating earnings exceeded analyst estimates, while revenue was close to expectations. The figures show operating earnings growing faster than sales during the quarter. But the operating margin declined slightly, putting the earnings growth in a context of margin pressure.

Analysts estimated net profit at 154 million Brazilian reais, operating earnings at 158 million reais and revenue at 1.17 billion reais, according to estimates reported by Reuters, citing the London Stock Exchange Group. Actual revenue came in slightly above that forecast, while operating earnings exceeded analysts’ estimate. The comparison shows a divergence between sales and profitability: revenue grew 4.6% year on year, while operating earnings rose 18.1%. The operating margin was 14.5%, compared with 14.7% in the third quarter of 2025. Thus, reported operating earnings rose while their annual margin declined.

Gross margin was 32.7% in the third quarter, up 1.8 percentage points year on year, but down 0.43 percentage points from the previous quarter, according to an analysis by XP Investimentos. The firm said price adjustments and a more favorable sales mix supported the margin. It added that inventory replenishment costs had begun to weigh on it gradually, though their impact was less than expected. These indicators reflect an annual improvement in gross margin, alongside a quarterly decline and emerging cost pressures.

The security segment led revenue, posting 741 million Brazilian reais, up 5.6% year on year. XP attributed the performance to the continued expansion of internet protocol solutions, access control and digital locks. Information and communications technology revenue was 257 million reais, up 3.4% from the year-earlier period. XP said the gradual phaseout of fiber-optic network products weighed on the segment, partly offset by strong performance in structured cabling. The energy segment posted revenue of 178 million reais, up 2.4% year on year, as it continued to prioritize higher-margin products over growth in solar energy business volumes.

Operating expenses rose 4.2% year on year, at a slightly slower pace than revenue, which XP attributed to relative stability in the cost structure. It also said higher financial income and a lower effective tax rate contributed to the quarter’s result. XP said the quarter was “positive, particularly in terms of profitability and capital efficiency,” while the revenue environment remained challenging. Operating cash flow was 252 million reais, compared with 318 million in the second quarter, as the improvement in working capital became less significant.

Intelbras had set October 28, 2026, after the market close, as the date for publishing its third-quarter results, according to its investor relations calendar. It also scheduled an earnings conference for October 29 at 11 a.m. Brasília time. The dates were announced before the results were published, and the conference was held the following day, according to the announced schedule. The results showed growth in revenue and operating earnings, alongside details of differing performance across the security, information and communications technology, and energy segments. XP said limited revenue growth persisted despite its positive assessment of profitability and capital efficiency.
