enVVeno’s $21.5 Million Funding Covers Operations Through Q3 2027
Key Facts
enVVeno Medical reported in its second-quarter 2026 results that it had about $21.5 million in cash and investments at the end of June, and management said the funding would cover operations through the third quarter of 2027. Plans the company included in its funding needs include starting the pivotal TAVVE study of its enVVe system. In the second quarter, net loss was $3.6 million, compared with $6.7 million in the same period of 2025. NVNO shares closed at $7.02 on October 29, 2026, before the results covered here were announced. That puts the closing price in market context ahead of the announcement, without by itself establishing the results’ impact on trading.
The company announced on April 29 that it had received an IDE exemption from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to proceed with a U.S. pivotal study of the enVVe system, intended to treat severe deep chronic venous insufficiency. Chief Executive Robert Berman said the company had worked closely with the agency to ensure the study design met its requirements for evaluating the system’s safety and effectiveness. He was quoted as saying, "We worked closely with the FDA to ensure the TAVVE study is designed to provide everything the agency wants to see." The company described enVVe as a replacement venous valve delivered by catheter and designed to restore blood flow toward the heart and limit backward flow. The company estimated that about 3 million people in the United States have severe deep chronic venous insufficiency.
Under the plan announced by the company in April, TAVVE begins with a 10-patient phase, with safety data to be submitted to the FDA after 30 days. The planned second phase includes 220 patients, 165 of whom will receive the enVVe valve and 55 of whom will be in a control group. The design puts a small group first to assess safety, followed by a larger phase combining treatment and a control comparison. The company links its funding needs to progress on the study, while it said in the second quarter that available liquidity was sufficient, based on management’s estimate at the time, through the third quarter of 2027. The available information did not include a specific date for the start of either phase or for submission of a marketing approval application.
