Tradeweb Posts Quarterly Revenue of $584.54 Million, Exceeding Analyst Estimates
Key Facts
Tradeweb Markets reported third-quarter 2026 results on October 29, posting revenue of $584.54 million, above the average analyst estimate of $582.13 million. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were $1.02, exceeding the estimate cited in the results data. On an unadjusted basis, the company posted diluted earnings of $0.94 per share, compared with $0.86 in the year-earlier period, an annual increase of 9.3%. Earnings growth coincided with higher revenue and volumes across parts of its multi-asset trading platform. The company's shares, trading under the symbol TW, closed at $119.82 on October 28, according to EL7 data.
Average daily trading volume on the platform was $3.2 trillion during the quarter, up 22.4% from a year earlier, while municipal bond trading reached a quarterly record. International revenue rose 22.4% to $258.5 million, pointing to growth in activity outside the domestic market alongside expanding trading volumes. Chief Executive Billy Hult said volumes and revenue reflected the strength and breadth of the global multi-asset platform. He added that average daily trading volume increased 22.4% year over year amid higher Treasury yields, changing central bank policies and geopolitical uncertainty. Those factors provide the market backdrop Hult cited in describing the platform's performance during the quarter.
Revenue growth varied across the platform's segments, with interest rate revenue rising 18.2% to $324.5 million as average trading volume in the segment increased 33.8% year over year. In equities, revenue increased 28.8% to $38.4 million, while average trading volume rose 14.4%. Money markets revenue was $44.2 million, up 3.0%, and average trading volume increased 6.0%, supported by strong activity in global repurchase agreements and higher client activity on the platform. Credit revenue also grew 9.6% to $132.990 million. Market data revenue rose 19.6% to $36.872 million, adding another source of growth to the company's business.
Revenue growth flowed through to adjusted operating earnings: adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were $318.854 million, compared with $274.423 million in the third quarter of 2025. The margin on those earnings rose to 54.5% from 54.0% a year earlier. The figures combine higher revenue with margin improvement, while unadjusted diluted earnings per share grew 9.3% year over year. Differences across segments show that growth rates were uneven, with faster increases in equities and interest rates and slower growth in money markets. Credit and market data revenue also helped broaden income sources during the period.
As part of its business expansion, Tradeweb announced an agreement to acquire the Trumid platform for a total purchase price of approximately $1.97 billion. The company said the deal is expected to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in the first full year after its completion, with the positive impact increasing in subsequent years as expense savings are realized. The company's updated 2026 guidance did not include the impact of announced strategic acquisitions that have not yet closed. Tradeweb set its adjusted expense range for the year at $1,155 to $1,175 million. This places the deal within an expansion plan that is not yet reflected in the announced financial guidance.
The board approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.14 per share, an increase of 16.7% per share from the year-earlier period. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on December 15, 2026, to shareholders of record on December 1, 2026. The move came alongside the results announcement and an update to the full-year adjusted expense range. Completion of the Trumid deal remains a subsequent consideration for the guidance, as the company said it excludes the impact of acquisitions that have not yet closed. The dividend sets a cash payment date for shareholders in December, according to the schedule announced by the company.
