Toyota Tsusho reported on October 29 results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, the first interim period of the fiscal year ending in March 2027. Consolidated revenue was ¥7,180,616 million, up 32.6% from the same period a year earlier, when it was ¥5,414,384 million. Profit also increased, with operating profit rising to ¥371,294 million from ¥261,130 million, a gain of 42.2%. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥262,026 million, up 40.2% from ¥186,920 million. The company said higher gross profit outweighed the impact of increased selling, general and administrative expenses.

The company attributed revenue growth mainly to higher market prices for resources and memory-related products. The impact of resource prices was evident in the Circular Economy segment, where profit rose 206.4% to ¥57.6 billion in the first half. The company said segment profit increased ¥38.8 billion year on year, "largely due to higher resource market prices." In Digital Solutions, profit climbed 118.6% to ¥34.9 billion, an annual increase of ¥18.9 billion. The company linked the performance to higher prices for memory-related products and increased trading in automotive electronics.

Segment performance, however, was mixed. Green Infrastructure profit fell 95.3% to ¥0.7 billion, with the company attributing the decline to non-recurring results in power generation outside Japan and lower domestic output. The company said segment profit fell ¥14.7 billion year on year. Lifestyle segment profit also declined 35.6% to ¥6.6 billion. The company attributed this to lower rice and cottonseed oil prices, noting that profit fell ¥3.6 billion from the same period.

For overall earnings, Toyota Tsusho attributed the increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent to growth in operating profit and a higher share of profit from equity-method investments. This came alongside higher selling, general and administrative expenses, whose impact the company said was offset by gross profit growth. The company's forecast for full-year profit attributable to owners of the parent remained at ¥430,000 million. The company announced this forecast on July 31 and did not revise it in its latest disclosure. The figure represents expected annual growth of 16.1%.

The company forecast annual cash dividends of ¥125 per share for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. In the market, Toyota Tsusho shares listed in Tokyo closed at ¥7,247 on October 29, down 2.07% from the previous close. The company lists its fiscal 2026 third-quarter results for early February 2027; the announced date is scheduled and may change. This follows the release of interim results covering the period from April 1 to September 30, 2026. The annual profit forecast remains at its previously announced level, according to the disclosure issued on October 29.
