23.5 Billion Transactions and $4.3 Billion in Tokenized Assets on Stellar Network in Q3 Summary
Key Facts
The Stellar Development Foundation’s summary of its third-quarter 2026 report listed a total of 23.5 billion transactions on the network, alongside $4.3 billion in tokenized real-world assets. These figures are the latest quarterly totals cited in the summary for network activity and the value of tokenized assets. The foundation’s previous report said developer activity reached 2,968 monthly active developers on June 30, 2026, the network’s highest level at the time. The foundation said this placed Stellar second globally, according to Electric Capital data. It also said developer activity in the second quarter rose 125% year over year, while activity across other major ecosystems contracted.
Real-world assets on the network followed an upward trajectory in the first half of the year, reaching $1 billion in January 2026, then $2 billion in April, before hitting $3 billion in June. The foundation cited a higher value of $4.3 billion in its third-quarter summary, which did not provide a quarterly comparison for that total. In the second quarter, stablecoin transfer volume reached $11.4 billion, up 72% from the previous quarter, which the foundation described as a record at the time. These metrics measure different things: the value of tokenized assets reflects the volume of assets on the network, while the transfer figure measures stablecoin activity on it. The foundation said in its first-quarter report that stablecoin payments totaled $5.5 billion, up 72% year over year.
In its first-quarter report, the foundation said the total number of developers on Stellar grew 86% year over year, with more than 4,400 developers participating globally during the quarter. It said this placed the network among the top five ecosystems by absolute developer count. This figure differs from the monthly active developer count the foundation cited for the second quarter, as each refers to a different metric and period. During the same first-quarter period, the network recorded 22.5 billion transactions and maintained 99.99% operational uptime, while average fees were about one-hundredth of a cent. The available third-quarter summary did not include a figure for operational uptime or fees for comparison.
Developments cited by the foundation in its second-quarter report included DTCC’s selection of the Stellar network as one of the first public blockchains for asset tokenization services. The foundation said DTCC oversees more than $114 trillion in U.S. capital markets. In the same quarter, rounds 42 and 43 of the Stellar Community Fund allocated $5.5 million to support 55 companies. The foundation also said its next steps include introducing optional confidential, compliant tokens and working on the post-quantum security plan it published on June 9, 2026. It also announced a pace of one major upgrade per quarter.
