Pump.fun announced on October 28, 2026, that perpetual futures trading was available through its app, providing access to more than 300 cryptocurrency, stock and commodity markets, according to a report by The Crypto Times. The announcement of expanded availability follows EL7’s coverage of perpetual futures trading through Hyperliquid on October 18. According to the report, users can fund positions from USDC or SOL balances in their Pump.fun wallets, without bridging assets to another platform. Leverage limits vary by market, reaching 40x for Bitcoin and 25x for Ethereum. They stand at 20x for individual stocks such as Tesla and Nvidia, compared with 50x for the S&P 500 index. This range brings stock and commodity markets alongside crypto assets in a single interface, with leverage limits varying by asset.

The tool allows users to open long or short positions, and to place take-profit and stop-loss orders when opening a position or add them later, according to the report. It also described the margin used as isolated. But Pump.fun’s official terms define the platform’s role as a software interface that transmits user-signed orders to Hyperliquid. The terms state that Hyperliquid creates and matches orders and positions, holds margin balances and calculates funding payments. It also handles liquidation and settlement, according to the terms: "Every order, position, margin balance, funding payment, liquidation and settlement is created, matched, held, calculated and executed by Hyperliquid, not us." Position management and execution therefore rest with Hyperliquid, while Pump.fun provides the access and order-submission route.

Pump.fun’s terms, published on October 17, describe the perpetual futures feature as restricted and exclude people in the United States and its territories, and in Ontario, Canada, as well as other cases and jurisdictions specified in the terms. The company also warns that futures are leveraged derivatives and trading may lead to the rapid loss of all collateral deposited. Positions may be automatically liquidated under Hyperliquid’s mechanisms. The terms say prices, margin requirements and liquidation levels shown through Pump.fun are indicative and may differ from actual execution. Collateral and open positions remain on Hyperliquid if access to Pump.fun’s feature is interrupted, modified or withdrawn; users can then manage positions through Hyperliquid or another interface. Pump.fun also reserves the right to add, remove or restrict futures markets, change leverage and order types, or suspend and discontinue the feature.

According to The Crypto Times, Pump.fun’s stated fee is 0.05% per trade, falling to 0.04% when a referral code is used, in addition to Hyperliquid’s usual fees. In a price snapshot cited by the report at 16:30 UTC on October 28, the PUMP token was at about $0.004192, down 3.0% over 24 hours. Hyperliquid’s HYPE token was at about $80.01, down 0.3% over the same period, according to CoinGecko data cited by the report. The following day, the official PUMP perpetual contract page showed a mark price of $0.004916, 24-hour trading volume of $90.3 million and open interest of $162 million. This is a separate snapshot dated October 29 and is not a direct comparison with the spot token price cited in the previous day’s report. More broadly, a Crypto.com research report said on-chain trading of traditional asset derivatives rose 162% from $11.8 billion in December 2025 to $31.0 billion in January 2026, while cumulative volume on HIP-3 markets reached about $40.6 billion through February 2, 2026.
