Ford’s U.S. sales totaled 509,764 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, down 6.6% from the same period, according to company data. Ford said its total sales volume was nearly flat when excluding the Escape and Corsair models, which are being discontinued under an announced plan. This exclusion presents a different picture from the decline in the headline figure, linking part of it to the two models’ exit from the company’s lineup. Ford estimated that its retail market share rose by about 0.4 percentage points year over year to 12.1%, excluding the impact of discontinuing the two models. The U.S. market as a whole performed more weakly than Ford’s adjusted sales, declining about 1% from a year earlier.

Performance varied across vehicle categories. Super Duty truck production rose to 110,275 in the third quarter, up 4.4% from a year earlier. Ford said this was its best quarterly production performance in 19 years. Maverick Hybrid also posted record quarterly sales of 27,793 trucks, up 59.6%. In September, sales of F-Series models rose 2.4% to 67,448 trucks, according to the company. The figures show growth in some trucks and hybrid models alongside a decline in overall U.S. sales, but do not by themselves establish each category’s effect on revenue or profit.

Ford raised its full-year adjusted earnings before interest and taxes forecast in July to a range of $10.0 billion to $11.0 billion, and also forecast adjusted free cash flow of $6.0 billion to $7.0 billion. The guidance followed an increase in its earnings estimate in the previous quarter, while the expected third-quarter results remained a test of whether the company could maintain those ranges. Before the results announcement, Yahoo Finance cited Bloomberg consensus estimates of $46.2 billion in automotive revenue and adjusted earnings per share of $0.41. These were pre-announcement estimates, not the company’s actual results. Ford is scheduled to report third-quarter results on October 28, 2026, with the earnings call set for 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The upcoming results follow a difficult financial period. In its second-quarter report, Ford recorded a net loss attributable to the company of $1.327 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with net income of $435 million in the first half of 2025. In guidance published in July, the company forecast an operating loss of about $4.0 billion for the Ford Model e unit in 2026. It also said that resetting its electric-vehicle product roadmap and manufacturing capacity, including ending production of the current F-150 Lightning, could result in up to $2 billion in additional pre-tax expenses and cash costs. These estimates and background information preceded the third-quarter announcement and do not determine the unit’s outcome or its actual effect on the period’s results. An update to full-year guidance is among the information expected when results are announced on October 28.

Ford shares closed at $11.71 on October 27, according to EL7 data. That was the day before the company’s announced results date, so the closing price does not reflect the market’s reaction to the third-quarter figures. Comparison with the revenue estimate of $46.2 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $0.41 remains contingent on the actual results. The full-year adjusted earnings and free cash flow guidance also remains an important reference for assessing the company’s announcement. Ford is scheduled to hold its earnings call on October 28 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
