Equinix reported on October 28 results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, posting earnings per share of $4.93, beating analysts’ estimate of $4.12 by $0.81. The results also showed revenue of $2.571 billion, slightly above the $2.56 billion estimate cited in an Investing.com report attributed to Reuters. Revenue was $2.57 billion according to the report, compared with $2.32 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, an 11% year-over-year increase. Equinix said revenue grew 11% year over year on a reported basis and 12% on a normalized, constant-currency basis. The announcement came a day after the stock closed at $999.38 on October 27, compared with a close of $967.65 on October 26, according to EL7 data.

Revenue growth was accompanied by faster growth in operating income, which reached $600 million, up 27% from the same period a year earlier. The company attributed the increase primarily to strong operating performance, pointing to improved earnings generated by its activities during the quarter. Net income attributable to common shareholders was $489 million, up 31% year over year. Equinix said higher operating income contributed to the increase, along with nonrecurring fees it received related to its investment in the atNorth joint venture. The explanation places the fees among the factors that lifted net income during the quarter, alongside operating income growth.

Among operating metrics, interconnection revenue grew 10% year over year, while Fabric revenue rose 24%, according to the company’s statement. Annualized net bookings reached a record $533 million, up 35% from the prior year. Equinix added 6,900 net interconnections during the quarter, making expansion of connections among its customers one of the key demand indicators cited in its results. Chief Executive Adaire Fox-Martin said the company delivered double-digit growth in key metrics, including interconnection and monthly recurring revenue. She added that the results and raised outlook reflect the company’s distinctive position and growing importance.

The company raised its fiscal 2026 revenue forecast to a range of $10.325 billion to $10.365 billion, above analysts’ consensus of $10.282 billion, according to an Investing.com report attributed to Reuters. It also forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $2.684 billion to $2.724 billion, compared with consensus of $2.64 billion. Equinix raised its full-year forecast for adjusted funds available for distribution per diluted share (AFFO) to a range of $43.71–$44.11, with expected growth of 11% to 12% on a normalized, constant-currency basis. The outlook accompanied quarterly results that included adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $1.321 billion, up 15% year over year. AFFO was also about $1.156 billion, up a reported 20%; the company said it grew 20% excluding the impact of atNorth project fees.

Against a backdrop of growth in monthly recurring revenue, Equinix said the metric had posted double-digit year-over-year growth for the fourth consecutive quarter. The company linked this performance to serving traditional and AI workloads, without detailing each one’s contribution in the statement. It also plans to deliver about 40% more new cabinets in 2026 than initially expected, an increase that reflects accelerated plans to add capacity. These plans appear alongside record bookings and the addition of interconnections during the quarter among the expansion indicators presented by the company. Equinix had listed a call to discuss third-quarter results on its schedule for October 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time.

An Investing.com report attributed to Reuters said the stock rose 1.2% following the results announcement on October 28. That move is separate in time from the closing data EL7 records for the day before the announcement, when the stock ended the October 27 session at $999.38. The quarterly results combine growth in revenue, operating income and net income with interconnection demand indicators and an updated annual outlook. The company cited nonrecurring fees related to its atNorth investment when explaining the increase in net income. The announced outlook covers fourth-quarter and fiscal 2026 revenue, as well as AFFO per diluted share.
