Chief Executive Kimberly Fields attributed the performance to “strong demand supported by long-term agreements, differentiated capabilities that make us the partner of choice, and disciplined execution across our operations.” The aerospace and defense segments accounted for 69% of sales during the quarter. Commercial aircraft engine sales were $603.2 million, or 42% of total sales. Commercial aircraft engine sales rose 39% year over year and 19% compared with the second quarter. The company said strong demand spanned original equipment manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul services.

Segment earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were $167.3 million, with a margin of 23.2% of sales. However, higher manufacturing costs and periodic costs weighed on the segment’s earnings margin. In the Advanced Alloys & Solutions segment, sales rose 34% to $702.3 million. Growth spanned aerospace and defense, specialty energy and conventional energy markets, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were $181.3 million, with a margin of 25.8%.
ATI raised its full-year adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization outlook to $1,190–$1,200 million, from $1,135–$1,185 million. Fields said the $35 million increase follows a $125 million outlook increase in the previous quarter. The company maintained its 2026 adjusted free cash flow outlook at $550–$600 million. For the fourth quarter, it expects adjusted earnings per share of $1.51 to $1.57 and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of $345 to $355 million. Fields added that the company is positioned for “stronger performance in 2027.”
