Key Facts
Adani Ports reported consolidated revenue of 11,340 crore rupees in the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 24% from the year-earlier period, while profit after tax rose 18% to 3,682 crore rupees. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were 6,807 crore rupees, up 23% from 5,550 crore rupees a year earlier. The company said strong first-half performance prompted it to raise its fiscal 2027 revenue and operating profit guidance by 1,000 crore rupees each. The revenue target range is now 44,000–46,000 crore rupees, while the operating profit target range increased to 26,000–27,000 crore. The results reflect a contrast between the high-margin domestic ports base and the faster-growing international, logistics and marine businesses.
Domestic ports revenue was 7,177 crore rupees in the quarter, up 13% year on year, compared with 1,839 crore for international ports, 1,273 crore for logistics and 1,007 crore for marine operations. Revenue in the latter three segments grew 71%, 21% and 57%, respectively, making international ports the fastest-growing of the businesses cited. Chief Executive Ashwani Gupta said, "Domestic ports continue to anchor our earnings, while international ports, logistics and marine operations are emerging as strong growth drivers." Domestic ports' operating margin was 72.5%, with 118 million metric tonnes handled during the quarter. The company's share of the Indian market was 27.3% of cargo and 44.4% of containers, according to the official disclosure.
International cargo volumes rose to 24 million metric tonnes in the quarter, from 10 million tonnes in the year-earlier period of fiscal 2026. The company attributed the performance to expanded operations at Colombo West Terminal, its Tanzania operations and the contribution from NQXT Australia. It said Colombo West Terminal handled 2 million twenty-foot equivalent units during its first 18 months of operations. International ports revenue rose to 1,839 crore rupees from 1,077 crore a year earlier, while operating profit increased to 878 crore from 261 crore. The segment's operating margin reached a record 47.7%, with operating profit up 3.4 times year on year.
In the first half of fiscal 2027, consolidated revenue rose 21% to 22,161 crore rupees from 18,294 crore in the year-earlier period. Operating profit increased 21% to 13,347 crore rupees, while profit after tax rose 14% to 7,332 crore. Operating cash flow was 13,327 crore rupees and funded investments of 10,521 crore during the period. The company also recorded free cash flow of 2,806 crore despite higher capital spending. Cash stood at 12,502 crore rupees at the end of September, while net debt to operating profit remained at 1.8 times.
The company also raised its fiscal 2027 capital expenditure guidance by 3,000 crore rupees to 15,000–17,000 crore, from the previous range of 12,000–14,000 crore. Gupta said the company had spent 30,346 crore rupees on capital investments over the past two years, while keeping net debt to operating profit at 1.8 times. In fiscal 2026, revenue was 38,736 crore rupees, up 25% and above revenue guidance of 38,000 crore, while operating profit reached 22,851 crore, up 20%. The company set a fiscal 2031 ambition of revenue of 91,500 crore rupees and operating profit of 52,000 crore, equivalent to 2.4 and 2.3 times their fiscal 2026 levels, respectively. The update combines higher growth targets with increased spending allocated to expansion.
Adani Ports shares rose 4% to 1,823.15 rupees in intraday trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange on October 29, 2026, Business Standard reported, following the results announcement. The company had handled 142 million metric tonnes of cargo in the September quarter, up about 15% year on year, according to Reuters via MarketScreener. It also recorded a monthly handling record of 50 million tonnes in August, up 19% from a year earlier. Reuters said the higher forecasts come amid resilient cargo demand despite geopolitical tensions, shifting trade routes and supply-chain disruptions. The board is tentatively scheduled to meet on January 28, 2027, to review third-quarter results, though the date may change.
