Stellantis Shipments Reach 1.3 Million Vehicles in Third Quarter, Fall 1% Year on Year
Key Facts
Stellantis said estimated combined shipments reached 1.3 million vehicles in the three months ended September 30, 2026, down 1% year on year, according to a company statement. The figures came ahead of its third-quarter financial results, listed on its investor calendar for October 28. In the third quarter of 2025, the company reported shipments of 1.3 million units, up 13% from the same period, according to its statement at the time. This year’s movement was concentrated in two opposing directions: shipments increased in Enlarged Europe and declined in North America. Stellantis said European shipments rose 10%, while those in North America fell 12%.
In North America, shipments fell by about 47,000 vehicles, or 12% year on year, according to Stellantis’s statement on estimated shipments. The company attributed the decline primarily to planned summer production shutdowns that affected several Jeep models. Shipments of both the Grand Cherokee and Compass fell by about 25,000 vehicles year on year. This puts the decline in the context of the production schedule: the company described it as a planned shutdown and did not link it in the statement to supply chain disruption. In the third quarter of 2025, North America had contributed about 104,000 units to the increase in the company’s shipments, which rose 13% to 1.3 million units at the time. The region’s contribution thus shifted from supporting growth in the prior-year comparison to weighing on total shipments in the current quarter.
By contrast, Stellantis shipments in Enlarged Europe rose 10% in the third quarter of 2026, and the company statement pointed to growth in battery electric vehicles in the region. Leapmotor, the group’s brand, also recorded an increase of about 34,000 vehicles, taking its shipments to 44,000. Stellantis linked the increase to the launch of the new B10 and B03X models. Growth in Enlarged Europe helped limit the impact of the decline in North America, while total shipments remained 1% below their level a year earlier. The divergence between the two regions shows that the change in the total accompanied different movements across the company’s markets and models, rather than a uniform trend across its regions.
Shipments remain an operating indicator separate from the financial figures that were scheduled to be announced on October 28; the shipment statement does not include third-quarter revenue or profit results. In the third quarter of 2025, Stellantis reported net revenue of 37.2 billion euros, up 13% year on year, alongside 13% shipment growth. In the second quarter of 2026, net revenue rose 13% to 43.5 billion euros compared with the same period in 2025. These earlier results provide comparison points for the coming period, but do not by themselves determine third-quarter 2026 performance. STLA shares closed at $4.14 on October 27, according to EL7 data.
In its guidance reported with its second-quarter results, Stellantis targeted a mid-single-digit percentage increase in net revenue in 2026 and a low-single-digit adjusted operating income margin. It also forecast positive industrial free cash flow in 2027. These targets are part of its FaSTLAne 2030 plan, which aims for revenue of 190 billion euros and an adjusted operating income margin of 7% by 2030. The third-quarter results announcement on October 28 is expected to clarify the period’s financial figures, along with the company’s position on its full-year guidance, after no new confirmation of it could be verified in the main results statement among the available evidence.
