Piramal Pharma raised its revenue growth forecast for FY2027 to 19%–20% and said it expects significantly higher profitability, citing a strong first half and continued business momentum. The company reported results for the second quarter of FY2027, ended September 30, 2026, alongside an update to its annual outlook. Revenue from operations in the quarter was 2,617 crore rupees, compared with 2,044 crore in the corresponding period, a year-on-year increase of 28%. For the first half, revenue rose to 4,887 crore rupees from 3,977 crore, up 23%. The performance puts first-half growth at a strong level, while the company ties its revised forecast to continued momentum through the rest of the year.
Quarterly revenue growth extended across the three businesses highlighted by the company, with contract development and manufacturing leading in terms of growth rate. Revenue from this business was 1,424 crore rupees, up 36% year on year, compared with 1,044 crore in the corresponding period. The complex hospital generics business recorded revenue of 849 crore rupees, up 32% from 644 crore. Consumer healthcare revenue was 359 crore rupees, up 13% from 319 crore. The figures show a broad-based improvement across businesses, with faster growth in contract manufacturing and complex hospital generics.
Operating profit improved faster than revenue: quarterly EBITDA was 385 crore rupees, compared with 224 crore a year earlier, an increase of 72%. The EBITDA margin rose to 14.7% from 11.0% in the corresponding quarter. The company also recorded a net profit after tax of 5 crore rupees, compared with a loss of 99 crore in the same period of the previous year. The company attributed the improvement in profitability to higher capacity utilization, operating leverage and disciplined execution. It added that ongoing cost-improvement initiatives also contributed to the improvement.
In contract development and manufacturing, the company added 22 new clients during the first half of FY2027 and hosted 110 client audits. These operational indicators accompanied quarterly revenue growth in the business, which was the fastest among the three businesses. The company said a healthy order book and encouraging client engagement support its expectation of strong full-year performance. It added that the second half is usually stronger than the first, forming part of the backdrop to its revised full-year outlook. This means the company expects activity to continue in the second half, supporting its targeted revenue growth and profitability.
