Butterfield Bank said it will release its financial results for the third quarter of 2026 after the New York Stock Exchange closes on Oct. 27, according to the group’s events and presentations page. The announcement is scheduled after the session in which the bank’s shares closed at $59.95 on Oct. 26, according to EL7 data. The company announced the results date and an earnings call scheduled for the following day on Oct. 13. Investors are therefore focused on the upcoming disclosure and management’s interpretation of the quarter’s performance. The available evidence does not include the third-quarter results themselves.

Second-quarter results provide a backdrop for comparison before the new figures are released. The bank posted net income of $46.9 million, or $1.16 per diluted share, compared with $53.3 million, or $1.25 per share, in the second quarter of 2025. Core net income, by contrast, was $63.9 million, or $1.58 per diluted share, up from $53.7 million, or $1.26, a year earlier. Core net income also exceeded the first-quarter level, reaching $63.2 million in the previous quarter. These figures highlight the difference between reported net income and the core measure, which excludes nonrecurring items.

Butterfield said the improvement in core net income from the first quarter was supported by higher net interest income and an initial contribution from trust fees following its acquisition of Rawlinson & Hunter Guernsey. The bank said net interest income was $95.6 million in the second quarter of 2026, compared with $89.4 million in the same period of 2025. Net interest margin also rose to 2.74% from 2.64% year over year. The bank described the margin as stable and deposit costs as well managed. In its results statement, it said, "Core net income improved from the first quarter, supported by higher net interest income and an initial contribution from trust fees following our acquisition of Rawlinson & Hunter Guernsey."

Reported net income in the second quarter was affected by deal-related expenses of $16.9 million, according to the bank’s disclosure. Butterfield said the expenses were mainly related to the CIBC Caribbean transaction and, to a lesser extent, the costs of integrating Rawlinson & Hunter Guernsey. This puts the difference between net income and core income in the context of acquisition and integration expenses. Management had said the CIBC Caribbean deal was expected to double the bank’s size. It added that it had completed initial regulatory filings in the relevant jurisdictions and still expected the transaction to close in the first half of 2027.

The earnings call scheduled for Oct. 28 provides the next opportunity for management to present and discuss the third-quarter results, according to the company’s announcement published on Oct. 13. The call follows the results release on Oct. 27, under the schedule announced by the group. The closing price of $59.95 on Oct. 26 remains a pre-announcement reference point. The available evidence provides neither a post-results share price nor data on the stock’s trading range in that session. The effect of the figures on the shares therefore remains to be assessed using subsequent data, alongside what management presents on the call.
