Ecora Reports $24.8 Million Third-Quarter Contribution, Up 17% Excluding Kestrel
Key Facts
Ecora Royalties said its portfolio contribution was $24.8 million in the third quarter of 2026, compared with $25.0 million in the same period a year earlier, as a nearly steady overall performance masked differences among assets. The disclosure was part of the company’s update for the quarter ended September 30. In the first nine months, total contribution rose 32% to $56.2 million from $42.6 million in the corresponding period. Excluding Kestrel, portfolio contribution increased 17% to $14.6 million in the quarter, compared with $12.5 million a year earlier. The divergence reflects Kestrel’s impact on the total, alongside growth in other parts of the portfolio.
The base metals portfolio contributed $11.6 million, up 17% from $9.9 million in the third quarter of 2025. By contrast, the specialty metals and uranium contribution fell 16% to $1.6 million from $1.9 million. Kestrel contributed $10.2 million, with saleable production of 0.9 million tonnes during the quarter. The company said year-to-date saleable production reached 1.0 million tonnes, with 2026 fiscal-year guidance remaining at between 1.0 and 1.2 million tonnes. Excluding Kestrel, portfolio contribution rose to $44.7 million in the nine-month period, up 66% from $26.9 million in the corresponding period.
At Voisey’s Bay, net contribution rose to $7.2 million from $6.0 million a year earlier, despite a decline in the amount of cobalt received and attributable to Ecora to 154 tonnes from 182 tonnes. The company said the average realized price was $26.20 per pound in the quarter. The figures show that the higher contribution coincided with lower volumes received, while the disclosure specified the realized price for the period. Across the base metals portfolio, the total was $11.6 million, reflecting contributions from other assets in addition to Voisey’s Bay. The specialty metals and uranium portfolio, meanwhile, recorded a year-over-year decline in contribution, making it a weaker part of the quarterly performance picture.
The company continued to reduce its debt during the quarter, with net debt at $71.6 million on September 30, down from $74.9 million on June 30. The September figure excludes royalty receivables that fell due in October. Ecora expected net debt to decline to about $57 million by the end of October, including those receivables, equivalent to a fall of about 35% since the start of the year. The company linked this trajectory to the timing of royalty-receivable collections, while the quarterly debt decline points to an improved financial position during the period. This comes alongside an increase in total nine-month contribution, even as third-quarter total contribution remained close to its year-earlier level.
The company’s operating figures contrast with a British economic backdrop showing an expansion in activity during October. The preliminary services purchasing managers’ index reading was 53.1 points, up from 52.1 in September, while the manufacturing index was 52.8 points, compared with 51.9. The readings were published on October 23 as preliminary indicators for October. In separate data, the Office for National Statistics said retail sales volumes fell 0.4% in September from the previous month, but rose 0.7% in the third quarter compared with the second quarter. The Bank of England’s September Decision Maker Panel survey showed that expectations for consumer price inflation over the coming year remained at 3.1%, while wage growth was expected to be 3.4%.

It also expected the 250-tonne third-quarter copper entitlement from the Mimbula project to contribute $2.5 million net in the fourth quarter.
