Key Facts
Hub Power posted consolidated net profit of 14.623 billion rupees for the three months ended September 30, 2026, up 10.1% from the same period a year earlier, according to published results. Net profit then was 13.279 billion rupees. The board recommended an interim cash dividend of 5 rupees per share for the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The results show uneven growth in revenue, gross profit and net profit. The company also included the results and quarterly accounts in its investor disclosures.
Net revenue from contracts with customers rose 27.1% to 22.109 billion rupees, compared with 17.397 billion rupees a year earlier. By contrast, revenue costs increased 43.8% to 14.107 billion rupees from 9.811 billion rupees. As a result, gross profit grew just 5.5% to 8.002 billion rupees, against 7.586 billion rupees in the same quarter. The widening gap between revenue growth and gross-profit growth reflects the faster increase in revenue costs during the period. The results do not attribute the increase in earnings per share to revenue growth alone.
The company’s share of profit from associates and joint ventures was 12.724 billion rupees, up 17.9% from 10.794 billion rupees a year earlier. At the same time, finance costs fell 13.1% to 2.174 billion rupees, compared with 2.501 billion rupees. Profit before tax rose 18.1% to 19.428 billion rupees. These items made varied contributions to the final result, with growth in the share of profit and lower finance costs offset against higher taxes.
Basic and diluted earnings per share rose to 9.86 rupees from 8.96 rupees a year earlier, an increase of 10%. The rise came alongside 10.1% growth in consolidated net profit, while revenue grew more, at 27.1%. The comparison of these rates highlights the gap between revenue expansion and improvement in earnings per share. On distributions, the board recommended a cash payment of 5 rupees for each share. According to its annual report, the company’s policy is to distribute surplus cash after allocating what is appropriate for investment needs.
