Crane Raises 2026 EPS Guidance to $7.23–$7.38
Key Facts
Crane raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance range to $7.23–$7.38, from the previous range of $6.85–$7.05, according to third-quarter results the company announced on October 27. The new range’s low end exceeds the high end of the previous guidance, while the outlook came in above analysts’ consensus estimate of $7.02 per share. The company reported sales of $754.6 million and adjusted EPS of $2.05 for the same quarter. Crane tied its annual outlook to expected total sales growth of about 26% at the midpoint. It also said contributions from acquisitions and core sales growth are expected to reach the high end of their previous ranges.
Third-quarter sales rose 28.1% year over year to $754.6 million, driven by core sales growth of 7.7%, the company said. The difference between the two figures shows that total revenue growth outpaced core sales growth during the period. Adjusted EPS from continuing operations reached a record $2.05, up 23% from a year earlier. EPS from continuing operations under U.S. accounting standards was $1.66, up 6% year over year. The results therefore combined revenue growth with higher adjusted earnings, alongside a smaller increase in EPS under accounting standards.
At the segment level, Chief Executive Alex Alcala said Crane “delivered another exceptional quarter, with strong performance in both AAT and PFT.” The data showed 9% year-over-year growth in the company’s total core backlog. Core backlog in Aerospace & Advanced Technologies (AAT) rose 9%, while core backlog in Process Flow Technologies (PFT) increased 8%. These indicators provide a picture of accumulated orders at the two segments alongside quarterly sales results. The company also announced an agreement to sell its Crane Building Services & Utilities business in the U.K. as part of a reshaping of the PFT portfolio.
The results followed sales of $724.7 million in the second quarter of 2026, up 25.6% year over year, with core growth of 5.2%. In that announcement, Crane raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance range to $6.85–$7.05, from $6.65–$6.85. AAT had posted core sales growth of 13.3% in the second quarter, with record backlog of $1.27 billion, up 11% on a core year-over-year basis. In the third quarter of 2025, sales were $589.2 million, up 7.5% year over year, with core growth of 5.6%. These comparisons place current third-quarter growth in the context of earlier periods that also saw sales increases and upward revisions to guidance.
Crane shares closed at $190.48 on October 26, compared with a close of $182.89 on October 23, according to EL7 data; both prices preceded the results announcement. These prices do not capture the stock’s movement after the results were published. The company is scheduled to hold a conference call to discuss its third-quarter results on October 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Alcala and Richard Maue, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will participate, according to the company’s announcement of the results and conference call. The executives are expected to discuss performance details and the new outlook during the call.
