Axogen reported third-quarter revenue of $75.8 million on October 28 for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 26.2% from $60.1 million in the year-earlier period. The company raised its revenue outlook for this year to at least $290 million, equivalent to annual growth of at least 29%. The outlook includes a contribution of at least $7 million from the BioCircuit acquisition, while Axogen expects organic revenue of at least $283 million and organic growth of at least 26%. Chief Executive Michael Dale said growth across markets "confirms our market development strategies and the strength of our commercial execution." EL7 data showed the company's shares, listed under the ticker AXGN, closed at $37.46 on October 27, the eve of the results announcement.

Revenue growth varied across the markets the company serves: breast revenue increased by more than 50% year over year in the third quarter, versus combined growth of 10.7% in the extremities, oral and maxillofacial, and head and neck markets. Management said strong demand for Avance and adoption of the company's product algorithm in its target markets continue to drive revenue. It added that higher unit volume was the main growth driver, followed by pricing. The divergence put the breast market at the forefront in terms of growth pace during the quarter, while the other markets continued to post positive growth. The company attributed its growth from the start of the year through the end of the third quarter to an improvement of more than 20% in account productivity year over year, alongside expanded sales-team coverage and commercial insurance coverage.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose to $13.4 million in the third quarter, compared with $9.2 million in the same period of 2025. Gross margin, meanwhile, fell to 74.8% from 76.6% a year earlier. The figures show an increase in the adjusted earnings measure alongside a year-over-year decline in gross margin. The stated facts did not give a reason for the margin decline or include a comparison with analysts' estimates. For its full-year guidance, Axogen said it expects gross margin of at least 73% and positive free cash flow for the full year in 2026.

Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and investments increased after the company completed an upsized public offering announced on October 28, which included the sale of 5,646,500 shares and generated net proceeds of $225 million. Axogen said $200 million of the proceeds was allocated to fund the BioCircuit acquisition, while $1.9 million went toward transaction-related expenses. Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and investments totaled $350.1 million on September 30, up $236.7 million from $113.4 million on June 30. The company completed its acquisition of BioCircuit Technologies, developer of NerveTape, on October 1, after the end of the quarter covered by the results. BioCircuit's contribution is included in the 2026 revenue outlook, while the company presents its organic outlook separately from the acquisition's impact.

On market access, Axogen announced that it had received positive coverage decisions from Elevance and Aetna, and said commercial insurance coverage for Avance now reaches about 96% of insured people in the United States. The broader insurance coverage is part of the context for the product's adoption across the company's target markets, alongside management's comments on demand growth and unit volume. The company did not specify separate dates for the two coverage decisions in the announced facts, but included the coverage figure in its results announcement issued on October 28. Axogen also announced a decision to begin market development for its prostate program starting in 2027, citing positive results from a clinical study. Management scheduled a call and webcast to provide a program update on November 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
