Axcelis Names Delsman CFO, Taps Rezik to Lead Veeco Deal Integration
Key Facts
Axcelis Technologies appointed Jeroen Delsman executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Nov. 12, 2026, the company said in a statement. Delsman succeeds David Rezik, who had been serving as interim CFO. Rezik will become senior vice president of corporate development and investor relations. His responsibilities include leading planning and execution of integration related to the pending merger with Veeco, along with corporate development, investor relations and other strategic initiatives. The finance leadership change comes as the Veeco deal remains subject to closing conditions and final regulatory approval.
Axcelis’ board appointed Delsman on Oct. 24, 2026, ahead of the change taking effect in November. Chief Executive Russell Low said Delsman had demonstrated an ability to lead organizations through periods of growth and transformation and to build strong teams. Low added that this experience was among the reasons the company welcomed him to the role. Delsman has more than 26 years of experience in finance, accounting and corporate strategy, including 18 years in the semiconductor industry. He was 50 when his appointment was disclosed.
Before joining Axcelis, Delsman was a vice president at Ferrotec USA. He also served at Sanmina as vice president of finance and corporate controller, and at Veeco as vice president of business and operations finance. He previously held finance roles at Lam Research, Novellus, McKesson and Silicon Graphics. His previous experience at Veeco places his career across both companies preparing to merge, while Axcelis has not announced a role for him in executing the deal. The company has expressly assigned responsibility for integration planning and execution to Rezik.
Delsman’s compensation package includes an annual base salary of $500,000 and a cash signing bonus of $352,000. He will also receive restricted stock units valued at $1.2 million at grant. He is also entitled to a relocation bonus of $80,000 during his first year of employment. Starting in 2027, he will be eligible to participate in the company’s annual incentive plan, with a target level equal to 75% of his base salary. These terms are set out in an Axcelis filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The merger with Veeco remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver, where permitted, of customary closing conditions and final regulatory approval from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation. Shareholders of both companies approved the merger on Feb. 6, 2026. In its second-quarter filing, Veeco maintained its expectation that the deal would close in the second half of 2026. That timeline places Rezik’s integration assignment in the deal-preparation phase, while the companies have not announced a specific completion date. Chinese approval remains one of the outstanding conditions to closing.
Axcelis shares, which trade under the ticker ACLS, closed at $109.11 on Oct. 26, 2026, according to EL7 data. The stock had closed at $106.58 on Oct. 23, after closing at $104.74 on Oct. 22. Those closing prices came before Delsman takes over the finance role. The company did not specify in its appointment statement any impact of the leadership change on the stock’s performance. Axcelis is scheduled to report third-quarter results before the market opens on Nov. 5, 2026.
Axcelis said its conference call to discuss the results will be held the same day, Nov. 5, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time. The results announcement is scheduled one week before Delsman starts, according to the dates set by the company. It will be the next near-term corporate milestone after the appointment announcement. Delsman is due to assume the finance role on Nov. 12. The Veeco merger is still expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to the closing conditions and final regulatory approval.
