Arcadis shares rose 5.2% on 28 October, reaching an intraday high of 46.40 euros, after the company reported third-quarter 2026 results. Operating EBITA came to about 124 million euros, up 14% year on year and about 8% above analyst consensus of 115 million euros, according to Investing.com. The company also reported net revenue of 991 million euros, with organic growth of 4.3% year on year. Arcadis kept its 2026 guidance unchanged, targeting low-single-digit organic revenue growth and an operating EBITA margin of between 11.7% and 12.0%.

Revenue growth improved sequentially through the year, rising from 0.8% in the first quarter to 2.2% in the second, before accelerating to 4.3% in the third, according to Investing.com. Net revenue was 936 million euros in the third quarter of 2025, compared with 991 million in the corresponding period of 2026, while comparable organic growth rose from 1.0% to 4.3%, according to the company’s results table. The quarter combined faster activity with higher operating EBITA, which exceeded analysts’ estimate of 115 million euros. That comparison put operating profit above market expectations, alongside improved revenue growth across the first three quarters of the year.

Arcadis attributed revenue growth to continued strength in energy and water, major transportation programs, and improved performance in manufacturing and industrial technology. Chief Executive Heather Polinsky said the growth pattern “reflects the areas we choose to focus on: continued strength in energy and water, accelerating momentum in manufacturing and industrial technology, and major transportation programs.” The company added that all three of its global business areas contributed to growth. In the Places unit, organic growth returned to positive territory at 1.2% in the third quarter. Growth was 4.2% excluding architecture, China and other non-core activities, according to the results announcement.

Order growth accompanied higher revenue, with the backlog reaching 3.9 billion euros at the end of the third quarter, up 7.9% organically year on year. The company said the Resilience and Places segments led this growth. Orders included water projects in the United States and the Netherlands, energy projects in Germany, and semiconductor project awards. These contracts provide a backdrop to the period’s activity figures, while Arcadis’s announcement also linked revenue growth to major transportation programs and a recovery in manufacturing and industrial technology. The improvement in Places to positive organic growth formed part of this performance, with a gap remaining between the unit’s reported rate and its rate after the specified exclusions.

Liquidity indicators improved alongside operating performance. Free cash flow was 131 million euros in the third quarter of 2026, compared with 80 million in the same period of 2025, the company said. Days sales outstanding fell to 65 days from 73 days a year earlier, reflecting a shorter period to collect receivables. Net debt also declined to 910 million euros at the end of the third quarter, compared with 1.042 billion euros at the end of the second quarter of 2026. The debt reduction came alongside higher free cash flow and improved collection days during the quarter.

Despite faster revenue growth, Arcadis kept its 2026 financial-year outlook at low-single-digit organic growth in net revenue and an operating EBITA margin of between 11.7% and 12.0%. Over the 2027–2029 cycle, the company is targeting mid-single-digit organic revenue growth. It set a target for an EBITDA operating margin in the mid-to-high teens by 2029 and said EBITDA will replace EBITA as its primary margin measure starting in 2027. Among upcoming dates, the company said it will release its fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 results on 18 February 2027, followed by a first-quarter trading update on 29 April and second-quarter and first-half results on 29 July 2027.
