Adani Enterprises reported consolidated revenue from operations of 37,215.62 crore rupees in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, up 75.14% from the year-earlier period, when it recorded 21,248.51 crore rupees, according to Financial Express. Revenue growth came as net profit declined year on year, according to a Moneycontrol report with input from Reuters. The report attributed part of the weaker comparison to an exceptional gain the company recorded in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue expansion was linked in particular to copper operations, which the report said contributed about 40% of the company’s revenue. The results therefore put operating growth alongside the effect of differences in exceptional items between the two periods.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were 5,508.55 crore rupees, up 66.6% from a year earlier, according to Business Upturn. But the margin on those earnings fell to 14.8% from 15.6% in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, meaning growth in the value of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was not accompanied by an increase in the year-on-year margin. The comparison takes on importance amid the reported surge in copper revenue, since higher revenue alone is not enough to describe the trajectory of operating profitability. The results also showed a significant difference in exceptional items between the periods. The second quarter of fiscal 2026 recorded a gain of 3,583.28 crore rupees from the sale of a stake in AWL Agri, while the company reported no exceptional items in the current quarter, according to Business Upturn.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the company returned to net profit after a loss of 1,160 crore rupees in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, according to Moneycontrol. This marked a shift from the previous quarter’s result, while the annual comparison remained affected by the exceptional gain the company made a year earlier. The report said the earlier gain from the sale of a stake in AWL Agri amounted to 3,583 crore rupees. The year-on-year decline in net profit therefore came against a comparison base that included that gain, while the quarterly result moved from a loss to a profit. The report gave no further explanation linking the increase in finance costs to leverage or interest rates.

Copper operations were the leading driver of revenue growth, with revenue of 147.72 billion rupees for the quarter, according to Moneycontrol, which said the business accounts for about 40% of group revenue. The report linked its growth to increased smelter capacity, but did not provide a figure for the growth rate of copper revenue. Alongside copper, revenue from the coal trading segment grew 6.6%, while airport business profit rose about 13% during the quarter. These figures show that multiple businesses contributed to the group’s results, with a different metric reported for each: revenue for coal trading and profit for airports. Copper growth remained the leading factor in explaining the expansion in total revenue, according to the report.

As the market tracked the results, Adani Enterprises shares were trading at 2,491.1 rupees at 1:49 p.m. India time on October 28, which Moneycontrol described as steady. The limited move came as the report coincided with the announcement of revenue growth and a year-on-year decline in net profit. The report said the annual comparison included an exceptional gain in the previous period, while the company posted a profit after the previous quarter’s loss. The company set January 28, 2027, as the date for a board meeting to discuss third-quarter fiscal 2027 results, according to its investor relations page. The company cautioned that meeting dates are tentative and subject to change.
