Vaisala raised its 2026 guidance, setting net sales at €610–630 million and EBITA at €110–120 million, compared with its July forecast of sales of €600–630 million and EBITA of €95–110 million. The update came on October 12, ahead of the January–September report published on October 27. The company attributed the improved outlook to the performance of its Industrial Measurements unit, which supported sales growth and profitability in the third quarter. In its announcement, it said the unit’s sales growth was driven by strong demand from data centers, semiconductors, battery manufacturing and energy. The outlook also excludes the impact of the planned acquisition of Atmo and any potentially material changes in market conditions.

Industrial Measurements recorded strong sales growth in the third quarter, alongside improved unit profitability and a larger contribution to group sales, which Vaisala said supported EBITA. The company linked demand for the unit’s products to the needs of data centers and semiconductors, as well as battery manufacturing and the energy sector. These industrial drivers place the quarter’s results in the context of expanding demand that was also evident in the previous period. In the second quarter, group orders rose 11% to €137.4 million, compared with €124.1 million a year earlier. Industrial Measurements orders increased 26% year on year in the same period.

On profitability, refunds of tariffs dating from 2025 contributed €4 million to third-quarter 2026 EBITA. Vaisala said the refunds were recorded under corporate affairs and non-operating items, making them separate from the performance of its operating units. The company also said lower tariff levels supported profitability during the quarter. This means the improvement in results combined industrial business growth with tariff-related support. The refunds specified in the disclosure relate to earlier tariffs, while the company described the impact of lower tariff levels as supportive of profitability.

Vaisala’s market outlook, presented in its half-year report, points to expected growth in industrial measurements markets, particularly data centers and semiconductors. The company also forecast growth in life sciences and energy markets, alongside growth in Xweather subscription markets. This outlook is consistent with the sectors the company said drove Industrial Measurements sales growth in the third quarter, including data centers, batteries and energy. Against this backdrop, the unit’s higher orders in the second quarter reflected continued activity ahead of the third-quarter results. The updated annual guidance came as the company sought to turn strong industrial demand into sales and profitability growth for the rest of the year.

Vaisala published its interim report for January to September on October 27, 2026, and scheduled management’s presentation of the report for the same day at 13:00 Eastern European Summer Time. The webcast and call were intended for analysts, investors and the media. The report provided an opportunity to follow third-quarter performance after the annual guidance update on October 12, including developments in demand and profitability across the company’s units. The announced sales and EBITA ranges for the year remain based on the company’s estimates and exclude the impact of the planned acquisition of Atmo. Vaisala also cautioned that potentially material changes in market conditions are not included in the outlook.
