SUSS MicroTec announced on October 27 that it had cut its 2026 financial outlook, alongside a plan to concentrate production at its two largest sites in Taiwan’s Hsinchu and Sternenfels, Germany. The company halted production activities in Garching and said the accompanying workforce adjustment would affect about 70 employees. It forecast revenue of 405 to 425 million euros, compared with a previous range of 425 to 485 million. It also cut its EBIT margin forecast to 5%–7% from 8%–10%, while keeping its gross margin range at 35%–37%. The move combines a lower outlook with a redistribution of manufacturing, as the company said supply constraints for some components could defer revenue into 2027.

According to the company statement, mask aligner production will be gradually moved to the Hsinchu site, while module manufacturing will be concentrated in Sternenfels. SUSS said the production network reorganization is intended to support continued growth and will entail one-off expenses estimated at about 6.2 million euros. Of that amount, the company expects to charge around 4.5 million euros to fiscal 2026. It also said supply constraints for some components would affect the timing of revenue recognition, with some revenue expected to shift into fiscal 2027. The company said the plan would therefore affect implementation costs and the revenue schedule, as well as change manufacturing locations.

SUSS said research and development, along with core manufacturing, application and technology expertise, would remain in Germany, together with its headquarters, and that it would continue to expand these activities. The new outlook follows first-half results that showed sales of 202.8 million euros, compared with 266.6 million in the same period of 2025. First-half EBIT margin was 7.0%. In the second quarter, revenue rose to 116.2 million euros from 86.6 million in the first quarter, and EBIT margin improved to 9.0% from 4.3%. This quarterly improvement came alongside a year-on-year decline in revenue, as the company has now cut its full-year outlook.

The company said in August that first-half orders totaled 410.0 million euros and its order backlog reached a record 473.7 million euros on June 30. It said about 220 million euros of the backlog was scheduled for delivery during fiscal 2027. That reflects the volume of orders recorded, while the company’s latest announcement says supply constraints for some components could delay revenue into the same year. After the second-quarter results in August, an Investing.com report citing Reuters said the stock fell 2.2%, after revenue came in 4% below consensus estimates and EBIT was 7% below analysts’ expectations. SUSS is scheduled to publish its third-quarter statement for the period ended September 30 on November 5, 2026.
