Repligen Posts Adjusted EPS of $0.53 and Raises 2026 Revenue Guidance
Key Facts
Repligen reported results on October 27 for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, posting record revenue of $209 million and adjusted diluted earnings of $0.53 per share. The company said organic growth was 12.5%, while its GAAP operating loss was $29.5 million. The results followed the company’s announcement that it would release its statement before the market opened, with an investor call at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Adjusted earnings per share rose from $0.46 in the year-ago period. By contrast, GAAP earnings per share turned from $0.26 to a diluted loss of $0.68.
Repligen attributed the operating loss mainly to an impairment of intangible assets, highlighting a wide divergence between adjusted performance and the reported accounting result. The company recorded GAAP operating income of $16.8 million in the third quarter of 2025 before posting an operating loss in the latest period. This coincided with revenue rising to a level the CEO described as a record, alongside organic growth of 12.5%. The CEO said the company delivered “a record third quarter, with revenue of $209 million and organic growth of 12.5%, driven by continued strength across our diverse portfolio.” The remarks reflect management’s focus on core business growth and portfolio strength, alongside the impairment’s effect on GAAP operating results.
The company raised its fiscal 2026 guidance to revenue of $844 million to $852 million, organic growth of 12% to 13%, and adjusted diluted earnings of $2.05 to $2.09 per share. The new guidance replaces the range announced in July, as the annual estimates now include BioLife Solutions’ contribution from the deal’s closing date on October 6. The acquisition’s contribution will therefore be included in the remaining months of the fiscal year, while the organic growth range remains separate from expansion through acquisitions. The higher guidance puts quarterly results in the context of the company’s expectations for the rest of the year, combining growth in the existing business with BioLife’s contribution. The company did not provide numerical details on its expectations for the next quarter in the available facts.
Repligen said its annual revenue guidance assumes a neutral foreign exchange impact, along with a favorable contribution of about 2.5 percentage points from inorganic growth. This impact is mainly tied to the BioLife acquisition, after accounting for the divestiture of Polymem. These components show that the expected increase in reported revenue combines growth in existing operations with the addition resulting from a change in the company’s scope. Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $863 million on September 30, compared with $768 million on December 31, 2025. The quarter-end liquidity balance provides a financial reference point as BioLife begins to be included in results from the deal’s closing date.
The third-quarter results follow revenue of $204 million in the second quarter of 2026, up a reported 12% year over year, with organic growth of 13%. In the same period, adjusted operating income rose 55% year over year, while GAAP operating income increased 1%. The CEO at the time said organic revenue growth of 13% reflected “sequential acceleration and continued outperformance against the market.” The comparison provides context for the revenue growth trajectory during the year, as well as the widening gap between adjusted and GAAP measures in the third quarter. The company’s annual revenue reached $738 million in 2025, up a reported 16%, with organic growth of 14% excluding COVID revenue, compared with revenue of $634 million in 2024.
Repligen completed its acquisition of BioLife Solutions on October 6, after announcing the agreement in July. When it announced the deal, the company said BioLife adds a platform for recurring-revenue cell therapy consumables as it expands its presence in the business. Repligen estimated that commercial cell therapy revenue would grow by more than 20% annually through the end of the decade, and said BioLife products are used in 18 commercially approved therapies. The deal’s impact begins to count toward Repligen’s 2026 guidance from its closing date, linking the new financial outlook to the expanded portfolio. The company also said geopolitical conflicts, supply-chain challenges, currency volatility and cost pressures on customer purchasing patterns had made financial forecasting more difficult.
