The Nasdaq 100 closed at 29,608.86 points on Oct. 27, 2026, up from 29,273.4 points in the previous session, according to EL7 data. The close followed morning trading in which the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.8%, the Associated Press reported. The agency linked the index’s gains to advances in Asian semiconductor stocks tied to artificial intelligence. The market move comes as news about financing for AI expansion intersects with corporate results and production pressures. The Federal Reserve also began its two-day meeting on monetary policy.

In a development linking technology companies’ financing with chip suppliers, Meta said on Oct. 26 that Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom had expressed interest in buying shares in its offering. The total value of shares the three companies may buy could reach 5 billion dollars, according to the Associated Press, citing Meta. The three companies’ interest is part of a financing process tied to Meta’s AI expansion. The group includes Nvidia and AMD, both semiconductor companies, as well as Broadcom. The report did not give a total value for the offering, but cited the value of shares the three companies may buy.

On corporate results, Boeing reported revenue of 24.188 billion dollars in the third quarter of 2026, up 4% from the same period a year earlier. Its net loss narrowed to 116 million dollars, compared with a loss of 5.339 billion dollars a year earlier. Core loss per share, under the company’s non-GAAP measure, was 34 cents. Reuters reported that the company posted an adjusted loss of 34 cents per share in the quarter ended in September, against a market forecast for a loss of 21 cents. In its commercial aircraft segment, revenue was 10.7 billion dollars, with an operating loss of 697 million dollars and a negative operating margin of 6.5%.

Boeing attributed the commercial aircraft segment’s performance to deliveries of less profitable aircraft and higher production costs, including supply chain costs. The company also was unable to raise 737 production from 42 aircraft a month to 47, the rate it had hoped to reach during the summer. Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg said the company had been unable to build wings fast enough. In the results statement, he said the company was “doubling down on lean operating methods and disciplined execution,” while continuing to focus on safety and quality. He added in a staff memo that Boeing had “a stronger foundation than we had a year ago,” but said work to fulfill the backlog of orders was still under way.

The Federal Open Market Committee meeting runs on Oct. 27 and 28, according to the Federal Reserve calendar. A press conference is scheduled for Oct. 28. The calendar lists the meeting and press conference, but no separate date under the name “interest rate decision.” The meeting comes after the Nasdaq 100 rose at the Oct. 27 close, while market news included Boeing’s results and Meta’s financing for its AI expansion. Minutes from the Oct. 27 and 28 meeting are scheduled for release on Nov. 18.
