Moneta posts net profit of CZK 5,522 million in first nine months
Key Facts
Czech bank Moneta posted net profit of CZK 5,522 million in the first nine months of 2026, compared with CZK 4,900 million in the same period a year earlier, according to its interim financial report. In the third quarter alone, profit after tax attributable to shareholders was CZK 2,176 million, versus CZK 1,806 million in the third quarter of 2025. The quarterly figure separates performance over the three months from the cumulative total since the start of the year. The bank also did not describe the nine-month result as a record in its statement. The period’s figures showed growth in operating income alongside stable operating expenses.
Operating income for the nine months was CZK 11.2 billion, up 8.2% year on year, while operating expenses remained stable at CZK 4.2 billion, according to the official statement. Moneta attributed the growth in performance to higher net interest income and net fee and commission income, alongside stable operating costs. It said loan growth and the repricing of its mortgage portfolio supported net interest income. This combined an expansion in lending activity with improved revenue from banking services, while keeping expenses at their stated level.
Net profit for the nine months exceeded the average forecast of 13 analysts, which stood at CZK 5,292 million, reaching CZK 5,522 million. Actual operating income was also higher, at CZK 11,172 million, compared with the average forecast of CZK 11,058 million. The comparison puts the period’s results above analysts’ average in both items, although the gap in operating income was smaller than the gap in net profit. It confirms that the forecast beat relates to the total since the start of the year, not the third-quarter figures alone. The figures show that the estimates were compiled by a group of 13 analysts.
On asset quality, non-performing loans remained below 1% as of September 30, 2026, and Moneta said this reflected customers’ disciplined repayments and a decline in delinquency rates. The statement points to lending expansion alongside the non-performing loan ratio remaining below the specified level. The bank also earmarked 90% of its accumulated 2026 net profit for a future distribution to shareholders, in line with its plan. The accumulated earmarked amount was about CZK 5 billion as of September 30, without the statement specifying a date or amount for an additional distribution.
Moneta’s 2026 full-year results are scheduled for publication on February 2, 2027, with the results call set to begin at 10:00 Central European Time on the same day. This is the next announced date for presenting the full-year results, following the current nine-month results. The bank listed the annual results call in its financial calendar, according to its investor relations page. The date will also allow shareholders to review the annual results and discuss them with the bank. The information provided did not include further details on when future dividend distributions would be announced.
