Infineon posts third-quarter revenue of €4.172 billion, up 9% sequentially

Key Facts

1Infineon revenue was €4.172 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, up 9% sequentially and 13% year on year.
2The company posted a segment result of €797 million and a margin of 19.1% in the third quarter.
3Infineon forecast revenue of around €4.7 billion and a segment result margin of around 23% in the fourth quarter.
4The company raised its fiscal 2026 revenue forecast to about €16.3 billion, with annual growth of around 11%.

Infineon reported revenue of €4.172 billion in the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, up 9% from the previous quarter and 13% from the same period a year earlier, according to the company’s results. Segment result was €797 million, with a margin of 19.1%. The company attributed the quarterly revenue increase to improved demand across all its segments. The Power Systems and Sensor Systems and Automotive segments made notable contributions to the improvement, it said. Chief Executive Jochen Hanebeck said power supply solutions for AI data centers "continue to see very strong demand and remain our most important growth driver."

The results put data center demand within the broader picture of improving demand that Infineon said extended across all segments. The quarterly figures offer a clear comparison with previous periods: revenue rose from €3.812 billion in the previous quarter to €4.172 billion, and from €3.704 billion in the year-earlier period. This reflects quarterly and annual sales growth, alongside a segment result margin of 19.1%. The company did not break down the contribution from each segment in the figures provided, but identified Power Systems, Sensor Systems and Automotive as the main sources of improvement. Hanebeck described demand for power solutions for AI data centers as very strong and the company’s most important growth driver.

The importance of this demand comes in the context of the company’s products aimed at AI markets. Infineon identified applications for gallium nitride (GaN) chips delivered to customers in AI data centers, robotics, renewable energy, mobility and industry. In its fiscal 2025 report, the group forecast revenue from AI applications of about €1.5 billion in fiscal 2026. This places data center power solutions among a broader group of applications, alongside other industrial and consumer sectors. The company also describes its Villach site as the group’s global center of competence for power electronics since 1997, linking the site’s history with its longstanding expertise in the field.

One backdrop to the expansion of technology in Villach is the production of GaN chips using 300 mm silicon wafers. Infineon says the technology enables it to manufacture 2.3 times as many chips as can be produced from a 200 mm wafer. The company presents this ratio as a comparison of the number of chips manufactured per wafer, not as a direct measure of revenue or demand. In fiscal 2025, Infineon Austria’s total investments amounted to €245 million, focused mainly on developing new semiconductor materials and expanding 300 mm production capacity at the Villach innovation factory. That figure relates to investment in the previous fiscal year, while the company’s outlook did not include a dedicated investment figure for the third quarter.

In October 2026, Infineon announced an expansion of its collaboration with Nvidia to develop GaN-based power conversion systems for AI data centers with an 800-volt direct-current architecture. It also completed its acquisition that month of C2i Semiconductors, which specializes in software-defined multiphase controllers and intelligent power stages for data center applications. The collaboration and acquisition come alongside the company’s indications of strong demand for power solutions in its quarterly results. Infineon’s next financial milestone is its forecast for revenue of around €4.7 billion and a segment result margin of around 23% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. For the full fiscal year, the company forecast revenue of around €16.3 billion, equivalent to annual growth of around 11%.
