BitGo Makes $762.6 Million Tokenized Treasury Fund Available Through Its Institutional Platform
Key Facts
BitGo Bank & Trust announced that the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, known by the ticker WTGXX, is available directly through the BitGo Mint platform to eligible institutional clients. The integration provides access to a money market fund investing in U.S. Treasury securities through BitGo’s institutional custody and settlement platform for digital assets. BitGo said in its statement that eligible clients would be able to access the fund "directly through BitGo Mint." BitGo Bank & Trust is regulated by the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, according to the company’s statement. The announcement, published on October 27, 2026, adds a tokenized cash instrument to the services the platform offers institutions.
WTGXX aims to provide current income while preserving capital and liquidity, and seeks to keep its net asset value stable at $1.00 per share. The portfolio invests in short-term U.S. government securities, while digital representations of fund shares are recorded on multiple blockchain networks. WisdomTree says digital ownership records are reconciled daily through a recordkeeping system integrated with blockchain. The fund does not invest in cryptocurrencies, distinguishing the underlying instrument from the digital assets used to record its shares. The share therefore remains ownership in a money market fund, while the token serves as its digital representation.
The fund’s stated seven-day yield was 3.78% through October 22, 2026, according to WisdomTree Onchain data. Fund data showed assets under management of about $762.6 million on October 23, while its expense ratio was 0.25%. These figures place WTGXX among tokenized cash products with measurable scale and give institutions indicators of yield, cost and fund size for their evaluation. Assets under management across WisdomTree’s tokenized products totaled $1.27 billion on September 30, 2026. That puts the fund within a broader group of products WisdomTree is working to make available digitally.
WisdomTree Connect allows institutions to trade and settle WTGXX shares around the clock through a registered broker-dealer acting as principal. Under this model, the client buys or sells shares from the broker’s inventory, so access depends on the inventory or capital available to it. WisdomTree says instant onchain settlement began using USDC. The company had said that 24-hour secondary trading in WTGXX and instant settlement became available after it received an exemption from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. A Reuters report in February 2026 also said the SEC had granted a special exemption allowing intraday trading in shares of the tokenized money market fund.
The fund’s listing on the BitGo Mint platform is part of a broader effort to expand access channels for tokenized products. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission included WTGXX among the tokenized money market funds identified by its staff in its Money Market Statistics report for the period ended September 2026. In its third-quarter update, WisdomTree said its U.S. platform for distributing WTGXX through MoonPay was under development. It added that, once launched, eligible investors would be able to invest in the fund using stablecoins they hold. The company did not specify a launch date for the platform in the update.
WisdomTree said its Onchain Markets platform, the next phase of its onchain offerings, remains under development. The platform aims to extend the principal trading model to additional product types, including tokenized exchange-traded funds. The company also unveiled a Sandbox experience that allows teams to test WisdomTree Connect without customer onboarding procedures or the use of real capital. Expansion of these channels remains tied to platform availability and to brokers’ available inventory or capital, under the trading mechanism described by the company. In the October 26 session, before the announcement was published, WisdomTree shares closed at $20.98 and BitGo shares at $5.40, according to EL7 data.
