ASM International posted record third-quarter 2026 revenue of €1,159.4 million, up 45% year on year on a reported basis and 44% at constant exchange rates. The Dutch company said it expects revenue to exceed €5.7 billion in 2027 at constant exchange rates. It said this level would achieve its 2030 revenue target three years ahead of schedule. The new guidance puts the company’s growth in the context of expanding demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. It also showed revenue expectations surpassing the trajectory the company announced last year.

In September 2025, ASM set a 2027 revenue target range of €3.7 billion to €4.6 billion and said at the time that it would provide further guidance during 2027. In July 2026, the company said higher expectations for spending on chip-fabrication equipment supported exceeding the upper end of its previous range. It also cited strong orders in the first half of the year, expectations that this would continue in the second half, and visibility from customers. Following its third-quarter results, the company’s announced estimate became more specific at more than €5.7 billion at constant exchange rates. A Wall Street Journal report, according to its summary, projected revenue exceeding $6.37 billion in 2027, linking this to companies’ investments in chips to keep pace with demand for artificial intelligence.

ASM attributed third-quarter growth to accelerating sales in advanced logic and foundry, and said quarterly revenue rose 44% at constant exchange rates. The company said investments in 1.4-nanometer technologies made their first tangible contribution to results during the quarter. It expects advanced logic and foundry to be the biggest growth drivers in 2027, supported by increased sales related to 2-nanometer technology and continued momentum in 1.4-nanometer technology. It also forecast strong growth in memory, while high-bandwidth memory was among the sources of demand supporting second-quarter sales. These drivers reflect a broadening demand base across advanced manufacturing technologies and memory.

Second-quarter revenue was €1,003.1 million, up 20% year on year on a reported basis and 24% at constant exchange rates. Sales exceeded the midpoint of guidance of €980 million, with a ±5% margin, which the company attributed to strong demand, increased share in advanced logic and foundry, and growth in HBM DRAM memory. In the first half of 2026, logic and foundry accounted for 77% of total equipment sales, compared with 15% for memory and 8% for power, analog, wafers and other products. ASM said momentum in AI-related applications strengthened in the second quarter, as customers continued investing to meet future infrastructure needs. In July, it had forecast second-half revenue to increase by more than 20% from the first half at constant exchange rates.

For the full year, the company expects 2026 revenue to rise by about 35% at constant exchange rates, with equipment revenue growing by more than 40%. For the fourth quarter, it raised its revenue guidance to about €1,230 million, with a ±5% margin, at constant exchange rates. Gross margin was 52.0% in the third quarter, while adjusted operating margin was 33.4% and adjusted net profit was €315.4 million. The board also approved a new share buyback program of up to €300 million, after completion of a previous program of up to €150 million during the third quarter. The company’s shares, traded under the ticker ASMIY, closed at $784.32 on October 26, compared with the previous session’s close of $777.43.

ASM listed publication of its third-quarter results for October 27, 2026, at 18:00 Central European Time, followed by the results call on October 28 at 15:00. The published results showed record revenue of €1,159.4 million, alongside the new 2027 guidance. Fourth-quarter results are the next milestone to watch, with the company setting their publication date for February 23, 2027, at 18:00 Central European Time. This follows its guidance for fourth-quarter revenue of about €1,230 million, with a ±5% margin. Those results will put the company’s annual outlook in the context of actual second-half performance.
