Adecoagro approved a cash distribution totaling $17.5 million, equivalent to about $0.12128986 per share, to be paid to shareholders on November 19, 2026. The company said in its announcement that the record date is November 5, the date used to determine the registered shareholders entitled to the distribution. The amount is the second installment of annual distributions totaling $35 million, approved by the shareholders’ general meeting on April 16. The company had set the annual distribution to be paid in two installments, in May and November, and the first installment has already been paid. The announcement followed the board’s approval of total annual distributions for 2026, subject to shareholder approval.

The distribution comes as Adecoagro reported an improvement in adjusted operating earnings in the first half of 2026, with performance varying across its segments. Adjusted EBITDA was $172.541 million in the second quarter, compared with $113.182 million on a pro forma basis in the same period of 2025, an increase of 52.4%. For the first half, adjusted EBITDA reached $258.344 million, compared with $161.239 million on a pro forma basis, up 60.2%. The pro forma comparison reflects 2025 results as if the acquisition of Profertil had been included in the comparison period. The company said fertilizer segment performance improved on higher production and urea prices.

By contrast, adjusted earnings in the sugar, ethanol and energy segment fell to $53.2 million in the second quarter, down 21.8% year over year. The segment’s earnings totaled $93.8 million in the first half, 4.2% below the year-earlier period. The company said sugarcane availability boosted crushing volumes and that it continued to maximize ethanol production to improve margins and build inventory ahead of expected price increases. This divergence puts the two segments’ results in the context of growth in overall adjusted earnings, with a stronger contribution from fertilizers and weaker performance in sugar, ethanol and energy. The distribution announcement did not directly link quarterly earnings to the decision to pay the announced installment.

Adecoagro distributes returns to shareholders through a program it reviews annually based on cash generated in the prior year and capital allocation priorities, according to its investor relations page. During 2025, the company distributed $35 million in cash dividends and repurchased $10.2 million of shares, bringing total returns to shareholders through both channels to $45.2 million. The 2026 cash program of $35 million is structured as two equal installments, each worth $17.5 million. The second installment will therefore be completed in November, after the first was paid in May. Total 2025 distributions differ from the 2026 program, as the prior figure included share repurchases as well as cash dividends.

On the balance sheet, the company’s net debt stood at $1.1 billion at the end of 2025, up 114.5% year over year. Adecoagro attributed the increase mainly to its acquisition of a 90% stake in Profertil, as well as a decline in consolidated results. Adjusted EBITDA was $276.7 million in 2025, compared with $467.2 million on a pro forma basis reflecting the acquisition. The company said it intends to reduce its leverage ratio by increasing adjusted earnings, particularly in the fertilizer and agriculture segments, and reviewing its capital allocation strategy. It also said the Profertil plant was shut down for 91 days during 2025, including 60 days for scheduled maintenance, and forecast a recovery in results in 2026 with a full year of operations.

Adecoagro shares, listed under the ticker AGRO, closed at $10.12 on October 23, 2026, according to EL7 data. That close came before the distribution announcement dated October 26, and the available data do not include a post-announcement price or the day’s trading range. The company is scheduled to report third-quarter results on November 11, followed by an earnings call on November 12. The results release comes before the distribution payment date of November 19. The record date for shareholders is November 5.
