Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” issued a $600 million blue bond with an annual coupon of 5.875% and a maturity date of October 29, 2031, according to the company’s official investor page. The bond record lists its issue date as October 29, 2026, making it a five-year financing instrument. The company said proceeds will be allocated to offshore renewable energy projects, including offshore wind projects. This use places the issuance among financings for clean energy projects in the marine environment. Masdar described it as the highest-rated public blue bond offering by a company globally as of that date, according to an announcement carried by the Emirates News Agency.

A report by Garant Business Consultancy said the re-offer price was 99.437% of face value and the yield at pricing reached 6.007%. The report added that the final spread was 115 basis points over comparable five-year U.S. Treasuries. Initial spread guidance was near 130 basis points, according to the same report. The consultancy said the final spread was 15 basis points below that guidance. It also reported that the 5.875% coupon is paid semiannually, pricing details that did not appear on Masdar’s official investor page.

The deal follows Masdar’s issuance of a $1 billion additional green bond in May 2025, when investor orders reached $6.6 billion and international investors bought 85% of the bonds, according to the company. These earlier issuances show the continued use of debt instruments to finance the company’s activities, with each offering differing in size and purpose. By the end of 2024, more than $1.685 billion of proceeds from green bonds issued by the company in 2023 and 2024 had been allocated to clean energy projects. Masdar’s outstanding green bonds totaled $2.75 billion, according to its investor page in October 2026.

In its 2025 sustainability report, Masdar said the capacity of its operational or under-construction projects rose by about 40% to 45.8 gigawatts, while its total portfolio reached 66.5 gigawatts. The company said its operational projects helped avoid 19.5 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent during the same year. In January 2026, the company announced plans to invest $30 billion to $35 billion in equity and project financing through 2030, while adding an average of 10 gigawatts of capacity annually. It also said its updated green finance framework received an SQS1 sustainability quality score from Moody’s. Moody’s assessment includes floating solar, offshore wind and offshore-to-shore power transmission in the eligible offshore renewable energy category.
