Vertiv Acquires King to Expand Thermal Services in Europe, Africa and the Middle East
Key Facts
Vertiv said on October 26, 2026, that it had completed its acquisition of King Environmental Services, a European company that works with high-density, liquid-cooled data centers. King provides fluid management, commissioning and load-testing services, according to Vertiv’s announcement of the closing. The deal aims to expand Vertiv’s global thermal management services capabilities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the company said. It also adds field expertise in managing and testing systems before they go live. Vertiv announced the acquisition agreement on September 24, expecting to complete it during the fourth quarter of 2026; Monday’s announcement confirmed it had closed ahead of the expected quarter-end.
King’s services cover multiple stages of preparing liquid systems, from setup, flushing and filtration to water treatment, commissioning and performance validation, according to Vertiv’s description of the company’s capabilities. Its work also includes thermal load testing of cooling systems and electrical load testing of critical power systems. This gives the deal an operational dimension beyond adding equipment or products to Vertiv’s portfolio, as it includes verifying systems’ readiness on site. Vertiv said combining King’s services with its portfolio could give customers a single partner for commissioning, testing, fluid management and ongoing operations. It added that this approach could reduce operational complexity and improve cooling performance, compliance and infrastructure readiness before operations begin.
King is based near Dublin, Ireland, and serves customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to Vertiv. The company says the acquisition expands its global thermal management services capabilities in the region, while King adds field expertise in fluid management, commissioning and load testing. Vertiv links the importance of field execution to rising computing density: Chief Executive Gio Albertazzi said cooling and power infrastructure performance would depend as much on execution at sites as on engineering and system design. Under that rationale, the deal combines infrastructure design with services to test and commission it. Vertiv’s fluid management presence extends to North America through its acquisition of Borg Wright in 2025, according to the company.
Vertiv did not disclose the financial terms of the King deal and said it does not expect it to have a material impact on its financial results. The statement comes as the company recorded group-wide sales growth in the second quarter of 2026: net sales were $3.274 billion, up 24% from the same period in 2025, with organic sales growth of 18%. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, sales were $483.6 million in the second quarter, up 1.7% year over year, while organic growth declined 2.4%. The company raised its 2026 sales forecast to a range of $13.8 billion to $14.2 billion, and its organic growth forecast to 30%–32%. These figures provide context for the regional expansion, while Vertiv has described the deal’s own financial impact as immaterial.
Vertiv shares closed at $194.32 on October 23, 2026, according to EL7 data. The stock had closed at $206.08 on October 19, then at $203.56 on October 20 and $212.15 on October 21, before closing at $195.59 on October 22. These closes put the October 23 session in the context of a price decline compared with the previous four closes, with EL7’s record showing no intraday high or low. The closing-price record does not establish a direct link between the share move and the announced deal. The undisclosed financial terms and the expected immaterial impact are what Vertiv disclosed about the acquisition’s effect on its results.
Attention turns to Vertiv’s third-quarter 2026 results, due before the market opens on Wednesday, October 28, with the investor call set for 11 a.m. Eastern time that day. The company set the date in an investor relations announcement, giving it an opportunity to present its latest results after completing the King acquisition. Vertiv had said the deal was not expected to have a material impact on its financial results, but did not disclose its value. It had also raised its annual outlook after its second-quarter results, setting sales and organic growth ranges for 2026. The third-quarter results will be the company’s next scheduled financial update.
