Intuit shares fell 3.24% in the Oct. 23 session, closing at $343.39, compared with the previous session’s close of $354.90, according to market data. The decline followed a rise in the stock from $335.61 on Oct. 21 to $354.90 on Oct. 22. The company announced an agreement to acquire Sequence on Oct. 15 and approved a higher cash dividend in August, meaning both announcements preceded the session’s decline. Neither the company nor market data linked the stock’s move on Oct. 23 to either announcement. This places the session’s decline in the context of price fluctuations in preceding days, without identifying a cause.

Intuit had announced on Aug. 25 that its board approved a quarterly dividend of $1.38 per share, up 15% from the prior year. The company set Oct. 8 as the record date for eligible shareholders, then paid the dividend on Oct. 16. That means the dividend payment preceded the Oct. 23 session by one week. The decision formed part of a cash return to shareholders, while available data did not link it to the stock’s decline in that session. The company said in its disclosure that the dividend was quarterly and that the increase was measured against the amount paid in the prior year.

As for Sequence, Intuit announced on Oct. 15 that it had signed an agreement to acquire the Series A startup, which specializes in revenue management and quote-to-revenue cycle automation. Intuit did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. The company said the acquisition would expand revenue management capabilities within its offerings for the mid-market, including Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced. Sequence enables companies to price consumption-, usage-, seat- and milestone-based revenue, then bill and collect it through a single platform. The deal is therefore aimed at adding operational tools to these offerings, without the company announcing a financial value that would allow its direct impact to be estimated.

Intuit described the platform as using artificial intelligence to manage revenue and said it replaces spreadsheets and manual billing processes with a unified platform. It added that Sequence’s capabilities could enable it to serve new industries, including enterprise software and professional services. This represents an expansion of products for companies that rely on usage- or service-delivery milestone-based billing models, alongside existing accounting and financial management tools. But the company did not announce a deal price or completion date in the statement. It said it would continue to support Sequence customers and develop an integrated offering over the coming months.

Intuit’s move comes as it reported revenue of $21.448 billion in fiscal 2026, which ended July 31, up 14% from the prior year. Revenue was $18.831 billion in fiscal 2025, compared with $16.285 billion in 2024, with annual growth of 16% in 2025. Chief Executive Sasan Goodarzi said annual revenue exceeded $20 billion and that key strategic initiatives grew 34% and accounted for 30% of the year’s revenue. Global Business Solutions revenue also rose 16% to $12.9 billion, while consumer revenue increased 11% to $8.6 billion. These figures reflect the breadth of the business base the company is seeking to support with additional revenue management products.

In an update issued on Sept. 17, the company forecast fiscal 2027 revenue of between $23.279 billion and $23.512 billion. The date for announcing first-quarter fiscal 2027 results was not set on the investor calendar; the company said the results date would be announced at the end of the quarter. Intuit listed a results announcement webcast among its upcoming investor events. Over the coming months, the company said it would work to develop the integrated offering with Sequence while continuing to support the platform’s customers. The information announced so far does not include the deal’s value or closing date.
