Infosys Cuts Revenue Growth Forecast to 1%-2% Despite 6.2% Profit Rise
Key Facts
Infosys raised its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of fiscal 2027 by 6.2% year on year to 7,823 crore rupees, but cut its annual revenue growth forecast to 1%-2% in constant currency. The company announced the results on October 23 for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Its shares fell 4% on October 26 after the guidance cut exceeded what most analysts had expected. Reuters-cited forecasts had pointed to a reduction of the top end of the range to just 2.5%, and the agency also linked the share decline to weakness in the company's North American business.
The new guidance reflects a slower growth pace expected by the company for the fiscal year, with its previous range at 1.5%-3.0% in constant currency. Infosys thus lowered both ends of the range, while keeping its operating margin forecast unchanged at 20%-22%. The revision followed constant-currency revenue growth of 1.5% year on year in the second quarter and 1.2% from the previous quarter. Reported revenue in rupees was 49,244 crore rupees, up 10.7% year on year, while dollar revenue reached 5,145 million dollars, up 1.3%.
Infosys’ investor page provisionally lists January 13, 2027, as the date for announcing results for the quarter ended December 31, 2026. This follows the board's approval of an interim dividend of 26 rupees per share, with November 3, 2026, set as the record date and November 11 as the payment date.
