Alpha Dhabi Holding signed an agreement to commit $1 billion, equivalent to AED 3.67 billion, to Alpha Wave Fund III, managed by Alpha Wave Global, Gulf Times reported on October 26, 2026. The commitment aims to expand the group’s exposure to artificial intelligence companies through a fund investment, rather than direct purchases of stakes in specific companies. The company said the fund expects to invest globally in artificial intelligence and high-growth companies developing or applying transformative technologies. Group CEO Hamad Al Ameri described the investment as supporting portfolio diversification goals and a focus on long-term value creation. He added that the company follows a disciplined approach to allocating capital to opportunities that can deliver sustainable value to shareholders.

Alpha Dhabi said it plans to fund the investment by recycling cash distributions received from Alpha Wave Ventures 2, alongside its existing resources. The funding structure therefore links the new commitment to cash flows from a previous investment, while also drawing on other group resources. Capital will be deployed in stages according to capital calls and the fund’s program, rather than all at once when the agreement is signed. The commitment remains subject to the necessary approvals, with no completion timeline specified in the published information. Returns will depend on the performance and valuation of the underlying investments and are expected to be realized through distributions and exits over the life of the fund.

The move comes as Alpha Dhabi’s investment in Alpha Wave Ventures 2 stood at about AED 14.3 billion at the end of the first half of 2026, according to a company disclosure. That fund is separate from Alpha Wave Fund III, which is receiving the new commitment. The group said its limited partnership interest in the previous fund gave it indirect exposure to companies including SpaceX, OpenAI and Anthropic. The company said fair value gains from its investments reached AED 3.7 billion during the first half, driven by investments in groups operating in artificial intelligence and technology, including SpaceX, Cerebras and Anthropic. These disclosures place the previous fund within the background of the group’s technology exposure, without indicating that the named companies are part of the new fund.

At the group level, revenue was AED 37.6 billion in the first half of 2026, up 5% from the same period a year earlier, while net profit rose to AED 9.8 billion, a 48% increase, according to official results. Revenue had reached AED 18.8 billion in the first quarter, up 8% year on year. Net profit for that quarter was AED 3.8 billion, compared with AED 2.1 billion in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 81%. Alpha Dhabi’s assets also rose to AED 230 billion in the first half, from AED 214 billion on December 31, 2025. These figures show the group’s financial scale alongside its announced expansion in technology investments.

In the first quarter of 2026, Alpha Dhabi said investments in Alpha Wave Ventures 2 contributed fair value gains of AED 1.1 billion, while its limited partnership interest in the fund was then valued at AED 11.5 billion. The disclosed value of the interest rose to AED 14.3 billion at the end of the first half, according to a company disclosure. These figures relate to the group’s interest in Alpha Wave Ventures 2, while the new agreement concerns a separate commitment to Alpha Wave Fund III. Alpha Dhabi manages more than 250 public and private investments across 45 countries and has 95,000 employees across its global group, Gulf Times reported. This institutional reach places the commitment within a broader investment portfolio, while deployment of capital from the new fund remains tied to its investment program and capital calls.
