Roper Technologies reported a 15% increase in adjusted diluted earnings per share to $5.89 in the third quarter of 2026, exceeding management's guidance range for the period. The announcement came on October 22, the date the company had scheduled to release results before the market opened, alongside an increase in its annual earnings outlook. According to the earnings release, quarterly revenue rose 8% from the same period a year earlier to $2.17 billion. Net income under generally accepted accounting principles grew 22% to $485 million during the quarter. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization totaled $864 million, according to the same release. GAAP net income growth thus outpaced both revenue growth and adjusted earnings per share growth.

Organic growth accounted for most of Roper's third-quarter revenue increase, according to the company's breakdown of growth drivers in its release. The company said "organic revenue growth was 7%, and acquisitions contributed 1%" during the period. Roper had reported organic growth of 5% in the second quarter of 2026, according to that quarter's results, making the latest performance an acceleration from the previous quarter. Organic growth also exceeded its level in the third quarter of 2025, when it reached 6%, according to the company's release for that period. Revenue in that year-earlier quarter totaled $2.02 billion, up 14% year on year. The comparison between the quarters shows that organic growth improved while overall revenue growth slowed from its year-earlier pace.

On business expansion, Roper deployed $436 million during the third quarter in 3 bolt-on acquisitions, according to the earnings release. The deals were for the company's iPipeline, Procare and Strata businesses, as part of its operations developing specialized software and technology-enabled products. Roper describes its model as designing and developing such software and products to serve niche markets. It also redeploys excess capital into high-quality acquisitions, according to the description of its business in the announcement of its earnings release date. Alongside the deals, management highlighted the launch of artificial intelligence solutions at PowerPlan, Strata and Vertafore in its review of operating developments. It also pointed to the integration of AI agent solutions into customer workflows among the developments highlighted in the quarterly earnings announcement.

Against the backdrop of these capital movements, Chief Executive Neil Hunn said Roper received proceeds during the third quarter related to Indicor's sale of its instrumentation businesses. He added, according to his statement in the earnings release, that the company "received $1.2 billion in proceeds" from the transaction. Those proceeds followed a quarter in which a similar amount was allocated to repurchasing Roper shares, according to the second-quarter earnings release. In that preceding quarter, the company repurchased 3.6 million shares for a total of $1.2 billion. The transactions represent separate capital movements across the quarters, between spending on share repurchases in the second quarter and receiving sale proceeds in the third quarter.

Looking ahead, Roper raised its adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance for 2026 to $22.35–22.40, according to the latest earnings release. The company had set its previous annual range at $22.15–22.30 when it announced second-quarter results, thus raising both the lower and upper ends of its guidance. The revision came after quarterly earnings exceeded the $5.75–5.80 range management had set for the third quarter in its previous release. For the fourth quarter of 2026, the company expects adjusted diluted earnings per share of between $5.95 and $6.00. On resources available for expansion, management said when announcing the results that its capital deployment capacity exceeds $6 billion. That financial capacity, alongside its earnings guidance, provides a framework for the company's next moves under its model of redeploying excess capital into acquisitions.
