NEAR Offers Up to 40 Times Leverage on Perpetuals With Confidential Funding

Key Facts

1NEAR advertises leverage of up to 40 times across more than 50 perpetual futures markets.
2NEAR says deposits and withdrawals to and from the dedicated trading account on Hyperliquid are confidential.
3Margin requirements, funding rates, fees and liquidation levels are governed by the rules of the relevant third-party platform or protocol.
4On 20 October 2026, NEAR announced a business service supporting payments, reserve rebalancing and swaps across more than 35 networks.

NEAR offers perpetual futures trading with leverage of up to 40 times, according to its official product page, which presents the service through a direct integration with Hyperliquid. Trading is available across more than 50 markets, according to the published product description, which combines access to the derivatives platform with a dedicated route for funding the trading account. NEAR says users receive a dedicated account for trading perpetuals on Hyperliquid, with confidential transfers into and out of that account. The company defines the scope of this privacy by stating: "Deposits and withdrawals to and from that account are confidential." To fund a position, NEAR Intents automatically converts users' assets into the margin currency used, according to the product page.

NEAR's terms of use identify Intents Technology Limited as the service provider, while assigning the administration of trading terms to the relevant third-party platform or protocol. The terms state that margin requirements are determined and managed by that entity under its own rules, standards and documentation. The same division of responsibilities applies to funding rates and trading-related fees, which the terms list among the items administered by the relevant execution venue. That entity also sets liquidation levels within the framework governing open positions on the platform or protocol. The product page excludes U.S. persons from access to perpetuals, as well as users in other restricted jurisdictions.

In a general explanation of collateral mechanisms in its futures product, Kraken describes cross margin as sharing collateral across positions, giving traders greater flexibility. It contrasts this with isolated margin, which allocates collateral to a single position to manage its downside risk. Kraken thus explains the difference in how collateral is used under the two mechanisms: it is shared across several positions in the first and limited to the position concerned in the second. In its derivatives trading glossary, the platform warns of the risks associated with positions sharing collateral, saying that "losses on one position could threaten the entire portfolio." The warning links losses on an individual position to their potentially broader impact on funds in the portfolio, as part of Kraken's general explanation of cross-margin risks.

As part of the expansion of its confidential services, NEAR published an announcement on 20 October 2026 for NEAR Business, which enables financial operations to be managed from a unified dashboard. The uses listed in the announcement included payroll and supplier payments, alongside reserve rebalancing and swaps across more than 35 networks. This followed a company announcement dated 22 September 2026 on the availability of tokenized U.S. stocks and funds in collaboration with Ondo. That announcement identified stablecoins and supported cryptocurrencies as means of purchasing these tokenized assets. The products covered by the announcement extend to U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds, as part of NEAR's offering to access them using supported crypto assets.
